Dumbledore's wise words faded, dismissing the student's attention to the vast amount of food that appeared suddenly. Hermione reached to grab a Treacle Tart, her eyes growing larger at the sight of the tempting desserts.
However, she was suddenly stopped, by the feeling of her arm brushing against Harry's. She brightly blushed, pulling her arm away swiftly. This nonetheless, was still noticed by her best friend, who smirked at Hermione in triumph.
"Cut it out..." Hermione hissed, sending a sharp glare towards the redheaded girl.
Despite her warning, Ginny shrugged, softly humming. She quickly grabbed a Treacle Tart, handing it to the brunette.
"Thanks," Hermione mumbled, instantly popping the sweet tart into her mouth.
Cautiously, she peeked up, locking eyes with Harry, who charmingly smiled at her. Hermione vaguely returned the kind smile, averting her eyes away from the boy a brief moment later.
"Just admit it-" Ginny whispered, playfully bantering. She prodded Hermione with her elbow, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Oh, shove off! I'm trying to eat!"

Entering the girl's dormitory, Hermione slouched, collapsing onto her bed from exhaustion. A smile spread across her lips, as she felt herself softly sink into the consoling mattress
"It's exhausting!!" She loudly exclaimed, ignoring the shushes she received from Lavender. "Oh, you shush!"
"What's exhausting?" Ginny chuckled, sitting down on her best friend's bed.
"Pretending to be nice to someone you absolutely hate." Hermione bitterly replied, groaning.
"Hermione, can you speak up? I don't think I heard about your deep hatred the first few hundred times you blabbered about it!" The redhead teasingly snickered, causing Hermione to giggle as well.
"Can you two keep it down?! I'm trying to get some sleep!" Lavender shrieked, sitting up from her sleeping position. She yanked her sleeping mask off, oblivious to the fact that her hair was puffed up in random directions.
"Sure..." Ginny and Hermione sarcastically cooed, chuckling at each other instantly afterward.
"Do you think she knows that her hair looks like a cotton swab?" Hermione muttered, her laughter echoing throughout the dormitory.
A series of groans escaped through the lips of Lavender and her friends, only fueling the duo's excitement.
"Fine, we'll leave you guys alone. Come on, Hermione, let's go." Ginny said, grabbing the brunette's arm and pulling her outside of their dormitory.
However, before they could continue down the stairs, Hermione stopped, groaning in disgust.
"What is it?"
"It's Ha-" Hermione started, grumbling under her breath.
"Wait! Let me guess! Is it Harry...again?" Ginny questioned, snorting. "Seriously, Hermione, he isn't that bad!"
"He is!!" She huffed, sighing as her best friend dragged her down the stairs.
Immediately, Ginny took a seat in the armchair, leaving Hermione to sit beside Harry on the couch.
"Hey..." He grinned, his attention fixating upon her, rather than his essay- the one that he was supposed to have finished over the summer.
"Hi..." Hermione awkwardly replied, trying her best to keep at least a foot of distance between them.
"Say, Ginny-" Harry started, setting his quill down on the table. He carefully rolled up the sleeves on his white collared shirt, untying his Gryffindor tie in the process.
Hermione grinned, her eyes glued to him, not being able to tear them away. Stop, Hermione. She heard her conscious whisper, but alas, she couldn't seem to peel her attention away from the extremely attractive boy who was sitting beside her. Coming back to her senses, Hermione bit her lip, hiding her immense grin once more.
"Yeah?" Ginny snickered, snapping Hermione out of her prolonged gaze. Harry, however, cocked his head to the side in complete confusion.
"Can you help me with my Charms essay?!" He murmured, scratching the back of his neck anxiously.
"Oh, I'm dreadful at Charms!" She said, lying through her teeth. "But Hermione here is amazing, and I'm sure she'll gladly help you!"
The bushy headed girl turned towards her best friend, her eyes widening. "Why would you do that?" She inaudibly gritted, her back facing the bespectacled boy.
Harry nodded, softly tapping on Hermione's shoulder. "Will you please help me?" He begged, beaming at her when she hesitantly agreed.
She eagerly scooted closer to Harry, her focus still completely attached to him. "Ok, ready?" Hermione mumbled, her eyes fastened to his lips. Noticing this, she painfully tore them away, hoping Harry didn't realize.
