We ate breakfast together and joked around and I didn't realize just how much I missed that. Ever since that night, there hasn't been a lot of joking around between Sammy and I. He has pretty much just been hovering over me and trying to fix what happened, even though it wasn't his fault and he can't fix it. The nightmares I have don't help him forget what happened either. I just feel so stupid and weak. Before I can think about it any further, the doorbell rings.
"Oh!" Sammy said before wiping his face with his napkin, "that's the guys, we are working on some stuff today." I look down at my outfit, shorts with a white shirt and I already know my hair looks terrible. But oh well, its just the guys and they've seen me look worse.
"Hey guys! Come on in, we're just eating breakfast but help yourselves." Sam said as he greeted all the guys as they came in.
"Wow Addison, you've only gotten more beautiful since I last saw you." Tyler said as he came up to me. I rolled my eyes playfully and got up to hug him. "It's been awhile, I missed you."
'I missed you so much Tyler, where have you been? You haven't been here in a while." I missed him a lot, after what happened he was really there for me whenever I needed him.
"Well I've been traveling a little and I actually got a girlfriend! Her name is Cynthia and she's so funny, I know you two will be great friends."
"Tyler that's great! Well bring her by whenever, I'm so excited to meet the girl that stole your heart." I teased him. He hasn't had a girlfriend in a while, totally his decision, he could have any girl he wanted. I ruffled his spiked brown hair and he playfully pushed my hand away and immediately started fixing his hair.
Bradley Tanner walked up to me next with their arms open wide. Before I could even breathe again, they pulled me in for a group hug. They started laughing and messing up my hair, making it look even worse than before. "We missed youuuu!" Tanner said, dragging the last part out. "Yeah," Bradley said, "we haven't seen you in forever. Texting isn't the same as being here with you." I laughed, but he was right.
"Well its not my fault! You made the decision to not come over." I said to them, then they shared a look. "Wait, what was that look about?"
"What look? There was no look!" Bradley said.
"Yeah! You must have been imaging it love." Tanner said backing him up.
I rolled my eyes at how they thought they could get me to believe I imagined that look.
"Guys, what was the look about? Tell me right now and I mean it!" I was already getting annoyed.
"Look," Tanner said, "Sam didn't want us to say anything, but he asked us not to come over while you were healing. We wanted to give you space and we didn't want to bother you. Please don't tell him I told you, it came from a place of love Addie."
I looked over at Bradley and by the look on his face, I knew it was true. I felt bad about what I was about to do, but Sam isn't my dad and he can't tell our friends to not come over and check up on me if they want to. I didn't want to be treated differently, everyone always felt like they needed to walk on eggshells around me so they wouldn't upset me, as if I would freak out over the littlest thing they said.
"Sammy! Sammy, where are you?" I screamed.
"No Addie!" Bradley said trying to stop me.
I didn't see anyone in the kitchen anymore except for us three so started walking to the open basement door. "Samuel James King, I'm gonna kick your ass!" I said as I was walking down the basement stairs. The talking down there stopped when I said that.
"Why? What did I do?" I heard Sammy scream back as I was rounding the corner into the studio. I saw him sitting in his chair, pushing his blonde hair out of his face to get a better look at me.
