When the pneumonia finally cleared up, Ayato was, unsurprisingly, the first to ravage my neck for blood. Subaru punched the shit out of him for that, but I pulled the albino off of him before he could do any real damage. Then I promptly passed out.

"She's dehydrated from her struggle with the sickness," Reiji said with such a lethal tone that it made me cringe.

"Sorry!" I squeaked.

"It's not like your weak human body can help it."

"Weak human body," I echoed, putting a hand over my heart as it thumped in my chest.

Reiji's red eyes flitted back to my face at the sound of my tone.

"What is it?"

"When may I be able to exercise again?" I asked from the couch upon which I'd awoken.

"In a week. When you're hydrated."

"Alright," I murmured, standing up rather unsteadily and returning to the schoolwork I was nearly caught up on.

There were other things on my mind as well; the triplets' impending birthdays for instance. They'd divided up the days – Latio was on March 20th, Kanato the 21st, and Ayato the 22nd. I'd make sure they'd get excellent presents and parties.

"Miyako?"

"Yes Subaru?" I asked, rousing out of my thoughts and finishing up the last bit of schoolwork (chemistry) that needed to get done.

"I was w-wondering... er you don't need to do it, I mean, I-I..."

I looked up at him, confused; he was blushing fiercely his hand rubbing his neck self-consciously.

"Honestly, be more articulate," Reiji ordered.

"Shut it!"

"What's up Subaru?" I encouraged calmly, packing away my schoolwork.

"Will you go on a date... with me...?"

"Of course," I answered. "What would you like to do?

"A-anything," he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck even more ferociously.

"Okay, should I think of something?"

"Y-yes..."

"Well good, so, tomorrow?"

"E-er yeah."

"Then its settled," I said with a soft smile, making the white-haired blush even more.

"No fair," Ayato growled.

"We can go on one some other time if you want," I told Ayato, moving toward my dresser and rifling through my things. "There are plenty of days in a year and plenty of years in front of us."

I planted a gentle kiss on his cheek as he appeared beside me, poison-green eyes needy. The moment my lips touched his cool skin, a light blush spread across his cheeks.

"Subaru?"

"What is it?"

"C'mon," I enthused, moving into the backyard with a basket in my arms.

He'd been standing by the door, waiting for me, but the minute I arrived, he had become a blushing statue.

"Let me have that," he muttered, taking the basket but falling into step beside me.

"Thanks," I said gently.

"You're not that good of cook, so what the hell is in here?"

He stared at the basket uncertainly, as if it would go up in flame.
