"You're too troublesome," Shuu murmured into my ear, his arms slipping beneath my armpits. In a quick rush of air and blurry surroundings, he'd taken me away. Very gently, he laid me out on the floor of what looked to be Reiji's office and examined my leg. "It's the large vein in your leg that's been severed."
"I'm going to bleed out," I groaned, clutching it fruitlessly. Blood seeped out between my fingers anyway.
"No, you're not."
He bent his head down and began running his tongue along the torn walls of the vein.
"Shuu-"
"Sh, I'm doing what I can until Reiji returns."
"Okay," I whispered, leaning back as my head begins to spin.
He continued to lick the raw edges, pinching the wound together bit by bit after doing so.
"I know you have healing saliva," I said as black spots began popping in front of my eyes. "But does it heal this bad of a wound?"
"No, but it'll help for now," he answered between licks. "Reiji should be-"
"I almost had him, you shouldn't have interfered!"
The voice belonged to Ayato; the room was suddenly filled with the Sakamaki brothers.
"He hurt Miyako, he deserved to die!" Subaru snarled.
"Our prey! How dare they!" Kanato screeched.
"He is popular among vampires – we'd have more targets pinned on our backs then we already do if I'd let you kill him," Reiji retorted in a biting, but refined tone. I could make out his fuzzy form above me as he strode over to survey my injury.
"It's bad," Shuu said, backing away for his brother to get a closer look.
"She's lost a lot of blood, still losing a good amount – I need five minutes to concoct a remedy. Continue what you're doing – it's stemming the bleeding some."
"I don't want to give up," I mumbled. "I want to go back..."
"Don't be an idiot," Kanato growled, kneeling beside my head with Teddy in his arms.
"Shuu, move over," Laito murmured rather seriously, bending over my injured leg and beginning to lick the rough edges of my wound as well.
"I..."
"Damn, I'm missing an ingredient!" Reiji hissed very suddenly. All the brothers' heads snapped up as they fixed their eyes on him.
"I can go retrieve it," Subaru offered instantly. "We don't have time, tell me what it is!"
"It's in the Demon World – it would take too long to get it!"
"I have an idea," I whispered, attempting to sit up, but Kanato put a forceful hand on my chest. "Laito... come here please."
It was a bit of a long shot, but I had the feeling it would work. It was a gut feeling – completely instinctual and driven by the fact that I could smell the perfume of Kanato's blood wafting from his skin. Blood smell was something I'd never been able to detect before...
"Miyako?" Laito asked, crawling up to my head and looking inquisitively down at me.
"I'm... going to try... something... is that okay?"
"Nfu~, of course, Anta-kun," he murmured, and I snaked my hand into his russet locks, securing my fingers firmly at the back of his head and effectively knocking his hat clean off his head.
