I felt light as if I was floating as I slowly opened my eyes, the pain having left me.

I was immediately blinded by light.

I looked around after I had recovered from the brightness.

Where was I?

There was nothing around me but grass. The vivid green spread out for as long as I could see.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" I called out, hoping that someone would hear and come to me.

Out of nowhere, a girl appeared.

She was kneeling on the ground with her head in her hands, crying.

Her sobs echoed throughout the field.

"Hello? Who's there?" I asked, glued to the spot.

She didn't reply.

I asked again and this time she turned around.

"Alice," I breathed, feeling my feet move forward as I recognised her.

Before long, I was running towards her.

But no matter how long I ran, she kept getting further away from me.

"Alice!" I yelled to her, feeling tears of frustration surround my eyes.

Why couldn't I reach her?

I felt pain in my chest as I heard her sobs again.

"Please wake up Leo."

I felt my legs get heavy and I fell onto my knees, looking at the grass.

But I was already awake.

Did she not see me?

Silence surrounded me as I noticed that she had stopped crying.

I looked up and saw that she was gone; she had disappeared.

"Alice!"

"Where are you?!"

I turned around frantically in search of her.

But she was nowhere to be found.

I felt my tears finally fall from my eyes as I began to cry.

Why did she have to leave?

"Could this be it?"

I heard someone say.

I looked towards the voice and saw my brother looking off into the distance.

"Jordan," I whispered.

Why was he here?

"I know we expected it to happen sooner or later but why now?"

"Expected what?" I asked him.

He didn't answer.

"It's already been this long. How much longer are we going to wait?"

"Jordan what are you talking about?!" I yelled at him.

And even though my voice surrounded the both of us, he didn't hear me.

What was going on?

And where was I?
