Maddy woke up the next morning to a missed phone call from L.A Ink. "Oh shit" she said to herself. She quickly picked up her phone, coughed a bit to get rid of her morning voice and called them back immediately. It rang about 3 times until a man picked up.

Andrew: hello?

Maddy: Hi this is Maddy, I'm calling back for Andrew I got a call this morning from your shop.

Andrew: Hi Maddy this is Andrew, thanks for calling back. I was calling to let you know we would like to offer you the job as assistant. You'd be starting next week if that works for you?

Maddy: wow, that's great thank you so much. And yeah next week is perfect thank you for this opportunity.

Andrew: well we are very excited to have you working with us. See you next week. Have a good day.

Andrew hung up the phone and Maddy jumped off her bed in excitement. "I got the jobbb I got the jobbb go Maddy go Maddy" she sang to herself while dancing in her mirror. Then she immediately wanted to text Colby the news, so she did.

Maddy: Colby, I got the job at L.A Ink!!

Colby: holy hit Maddy that's great, I'm so happy for you. You should show them my tattoo, it might give you some credibility.

Maddy: I definitely will🤗

Colby: so how about we go out and celebrate? Let me take you to dinner tonight at around 6.

Maddy: Awh Colby that's so sweet. Yeah I'd love that.

Colby: okay sweet, I'll pick you up for 6.

Maddy: see you then🥰

Maddy's P.O.V

Holy shit, Colby is taking me out to dinner tonight. Is this a date or is it just us celebrating my job? Is the only thing I could think to myself, I mean friends take their friends out to celebrate stuff like this all the time...that's probably all it is...right? Oh my god Maddy stop over analyzing everything Colby says and does. The bigger question is what am I going to wear. I don't know if it's a fancy dinner or a casual dinner. Fuck. I should ask him.

Me: hey one question, fancy or casual dinner tonight?

Colby: casual. I like to save my fancy dinners for different occasions

Me: no clue what that means but gotcha😂

Okay, casual it is.

Later that night at around 5:50 Maddy was almost done getting ready for her dinner with Colby. She put on a black tank top with a grey cardigan and a pair of black jeans with rips in the needs and a pair of black boots to top it off. Her hair was curled and she had light makeup on. She was ready to go.

Colby: be there soon 🥳

Maddy: see you soon

Maddy's butterflies returned and found comfort in her stomach once again when she read the text from Colby. She still could not shake the feeling that this could quiet possibly be a date.

About 10 minutes later Colby had arrived at exactly 6:00pm on the dot and Maddy headed downstairs to meet him at his car. She got in his red Toyota and they were off.

"You were there at exactly 6:00. That's impressive."

"I'm never late Maddy" Colby laughed

"That's good to know" Maddy replied and smile.

After about a 10 minute drive they had arrived at a cute little restaurant that was as casual as Maddy had prepared for. They both got out of the car and walked in. They walked up to the hostess and Colby "hi there, I have a reservation under Colby." Then the hostess looked through her book and found our table. "Right this way. The others are already here." 'Others?' Maddy thought to herself and then once she saw the table she knew this was not a date. At the table was Sam and Kat, Tara and Jake and Corey and Deyvn, but to be fair...they were all couple so maybe it was a big group date?

"Hey guys" Colby said as they sat down at the table and they all greeted Colby and Maddy with nice hi's and hellos.

Maddy's P.O.V

I was so sure this was just going to be Colby and I but I was completely wrong. I mean, I was enjoying my time with all of Colby's friends but I wanted to be alone with him...I wanted to get to know him better without any Interruptions from anyone.

"Hey congrats on the job Maddy" Corey said smiling at me and everyone sent around 'yeahs' and 'congrats' once Corey mentioned it.
"Thanks you guys. I'm really excited about it." I said politely smiling at everyone.

I then took out my phone and texted Tara who was sitting across from me.

Me: Tara I really thought this was gonna be a date for just Colby and I...

Tara: ;)

Me: what is that supposed to mean?

Tara: okay the only reason we're here is because it originally was supposed to be a date but Colby got super nervous and invited us all last minute so he could spent time with you but not be as nervous.

Me: oh...I guess that's sweet. But I just hope he'll take me out just the two of us at some point

Tara: he will don't worry.

I put my phone back into my pocket and carried on with dinner. We got our food after about 20 minutes of waiting, and I felt like a child with my meal. I got chicken fingers and fries because it's the easiest choice and I'm picky at restaurants that don't have a lot of things that I like. Colby made fun of me when he heard my order and so did Tara, but hey it's cheap and delicious.

After we all finished our meals, the waiter came around and asked how we all wanted to pay, all the boys paid for their girlfriends and then the waiter asked us if we were paying separate or together. "So will you two be separate or together for the bill?" And then Colby immediately said "together please." I was happy he had offered to pay for mine as well but I also felt bad. "Colby you didn't have to pay for mine as well." I said to him, "it was my pleasure Maddy, don't even worry about it." I just smiled back at him.

*SWITCHING TO 1St PERSON*

Everyone then got up from the table and we all walked outside. "So what should we do now?" Colby asked "oh Jake and I have to get going" Tara said followed by Sam, Kat, Deyvn and Corey (a/n: also let's pretend Corey and Deyvn are still together) all saying they had to leave as well. "Oh shit, alright guys" then hugs were passed around and they all got into their separate cars and drove off into the night and it was now just Colby and I.

"So Colby, what shall we do for the rest of this evening?" I asked politely

"Um im not too sure. We could go back to your apartment if you'd like" he suggested and I kindly said yes. We got into his red Toyota and he drove us back to my apartment. The whole car ride was spent talking about the dinner we just had. "I really like your friends" I said smiling at him, "I'm glad you do. From what they've told me they like you too" that made me extremely happy to know they all like me. I knew the girls liked me but I wasn't sure if the guys did but I'm sure that wasn't all of Colby's friend, there are probably way more left to meet.
