Watanabe Risa has the ability to see this special red string tied to every person.
She was five years old when she started to see this threads hanging in front of her, she doesn't know what it is but as she grow up; she learned the reason. It is the red string of fate or the threads that connected to two persons fingers; indicating that they are destined to be forever. She saw many people and their red string, there are some tightly connected, some were fading and some were a mistake.
But none of those fascinates her especially when she see her own parents red strings doesn't tied to each other. Theirs are broken, the color is dull. Risa wonder that maybe her parents aren't destined to be with each other and that came true when her parents decided to seperated.
Adolescent came when she started to become curious who will be her soulmate, who will be the person at the end of her string. But when she look at her own finger, she doesn't have the string. Does it mean that she doesn't have a soulmate? Ridiculous.
All of the people and even infant already has red string that tightly tied and connected to someone. But why she doesn't have?
That made her jealous to the people like her friends,Akane and Yuuka; her bestfriends who dating each other for whole six years. She can see their connected strings tightly tied to their fingers, it's shining beautifully. Sign that they are really meant for each other.
Another reason why she didn't date anyone. Some people show interest to her but eveytime she look at their fingers, their red string are connected to other people. And her is still invincible.
She thought, why would she waste her time to the people who are not destined to be with her? The people who will possibly hurt her, she doesn't want to be like her parents who ended up spending their life with the wrong people.
She better be alone than to suffer in pain.

"Congrats. I'm really happy for both of you."
"Thank you Risa, why don't you stay a little longer?" Akane pout, squeezing her now wife, Yuuka arms. "Right honey?"
Yuuka agree. "She's right, stay a little longer."
Risa shake her head and smiled softly to the newlywed couple. "No, I'm early for tomorrow."
Akane frowned at her causes three of them to laugh. Eventually, the couple agreed to let her escape the party and go home to rest. Believe her, she want to stay too and see her two bestfriends enjoying one of the most important day of their life; their wedding. But she really need to go home and prepare herself for tomorrow work which is sure will be exhausting.
Today is fun. She just witnessed her highschool bestfriends became one, their red strings slowly turned gold when they kissed. Risa wanted to tell them that they are really meant for each other, that their hearts beating to the same rhythm, that fate favor them. How beautiful.
She get inside her car and rolled the wheels to the lonely highway in the middle of the night. She want her body drown to the soft mattress and a complete eight hours of sleep if possible. But suddenly a light flashes in front of her, her eyes follow it for a second and when she look in front of her; a girl in baby blue dress suddenly showed up. Thanks to her quick reflexes, she quickly stopped the car. A loud screech of her wheels echoes.
Silence.
She can only hear her heart beating so fast, her breathe and the sweat that rolled down from her forehead. She lift her face to meet the eyes of the girl that looking at her weakly. Risa blinked. She's trembling. She didn't hit her, no, she almost hit her.
