Mia's POV

Fuck sleep. All I could think about was Lip and what happened with him last night. I contemplated leaving during the nights to meet up with him if he was ever down for it, but I could've just been used for all I knew. What if he did use me? It happened all so fast. Too fast.

I had almost drifted off when the alarm started buzzing out of control. I turned off the PS4 and tv. I got up and brushed out my hair. It's waves frizzled out all over. I swore I saw some pieces fell out. I put on a cropped, light pink, long-sleeved sweater and some jeans. I never even took my bra off or my underwear when I tried to sleep that night. It sounded so weird in my head since the night had just passed. I didn't even bother putting makeup on because I was far too lazy.

My mom was asleep on the couch when I came downstairs. Probably to make sure I wouldn't sneak out. I rolled my eyes and grabbed a granola bar out of the cupboard on the right side next to the fridge and ran out for the bus.

It pulled up a couple minutes later and I got on and immediately claimed the seat I normally sat in. Back to the usual seven day routine again. I sighed and put my earbuds in. I saw someone moving in the corner of my eye. It looked like they were making a hand motion. I looked over. Great, Camden. I took the earbuds out seeing why he was so eager to fetch my attention. Camden immediately started talking to me.

"So gorgeous, you change your mind yet?"

"Nope, I'm staying single."

What I really wanted was to date Lip. He was the one on my mind. I mean, Camden was cute but I honestly didn't want to hang out with him. I knew the possibilities that the choice could lead to.

"Awe come on. Don't be like that. I need some new friends."

Friends? Yeah, I could totally tell he just wanted to get in between my jeans. Any time a guy says just friends, you know what they're really looking forward too. He desperately said something else.

"Mia, I know this great place where we can go."

I pursed my lips and glared at him. His perseverance was so strong.

"Yeah? And where is that?"

"There's this awesome club downtown in Chicago. We should totally go."

Clubs. Dancing and drinking, and my least favorite, drugs. I had never been to a club before and going with Camden I know would be a huge mistake. Probably worse than what I did last night.

"You know," I started off, "I appreciate the offer buddy but I just went out on a date last night."

"Date? I thought you said you were staying single." Camden raised an eyebrow.

"Well," I could feel myself starting to blush, and not in the good way. "I do want to stay single because the date didn't go so well."

"Okay." Camden leaned back in his seat and stuffed the earbuds back into his ears, as did I.

Earbuds were the number one way to ignore people. Whether they're complaining straight into your ear or simply being annoying, it was the perfect way to ignore someone. That is, unless they rip it out of your ear. I feared Camden would rip it out as I kept a close eye on him the whole way to school.
