"Hey Pete," you smiled at the boy who walked into work. You knew of him a little bit since you went to the same school, but you never had any classes together. He was really nice, very funny and it was a nice bonus that he was extremely cute.
"What's up Y/n!" He said stopping in front of the counter smiling.
"Living the dream, scooping ice cream." You joked, wanting to see him laugh.
He smiled and laughed shyly, honestly he wasn't very used to pretty girls giving him attention.
"I'm just gonna put my stuff down," he said pointing behind his shoulder.
"Okay!" You smiled.
Peter came back to the front with his apron on. "Do anything fun last night?" He asked trying to make light conversation since the shop was dead.
"Nope, just did some homework. How about you?" You asked.
"Same, just stayed inside all night." He lied. He was patrolling all night but he wasn't gonna tell you that.
"Hi, what can I get you?" You smiled at the customer with bright eyes. "Okay! I love that flavor by the way," You said while scooping their ice cream. Peter loved when he got to work with you. He admired how you could be so nice to everyone even when you were at some boring job. It was nice to be around someone so positive when he's seen the worst things a person could see, it reminded him why he did what he did.
"Sprinkles? Yeah okay hold on let me grab them real quick," you said turning around. You reached up to an unnecessarily high shelf to grab them.
"Oh let me help you," Peter offered. He stood behind you and put his arm right behind yours to grab them. You turned around so you were face to face with him.
"Um, thanks!" You said, lingering a little too long and breaking the close contact you had with him.
You finished with the customer and turned to Peter.
"Oh hey, I noticed that you walk to work. I can totally give you a ride home, wouldn't want you to get mugged." You joked.
"I think I'd be okay if I got mugged," he laughed. "B- but yea if it's not too much trouble I'd love a ride from you,"
Those words made you smile, "from you." you thought. "Sounds good!" You flashed him a smile. "I just gotta tell my dad I'm giving you a ride so he doesn't worry."
Y/n: Hey dad, I'm giving Peter a ride home, he lives in Queens though so I won't be home too late.
Tony: Okay sounds good sweetie <3
Tony: Wait WHAT
Y/n: He's just someone I work with. Be home later!
"Okay he's good with it." You told Peter.
–
Over the past few days of working with Peter you'd give him a ride home, but today Pepper dropped you off.
"Hey Pete!" You waved at him. "Oh by the way, my step mom dropped me off today so I can't give you a ride, I was just gonna walk home."
"Oh no problem," He said with a hint of worry in his voice. "Let me walk you home, y/n. It's the least I can do for you since you've been giving me rides."
"Oh okay, thanks Peter!" You said. "You sure you'll be okay walking to your place alone?"
He smiled lightly, "Yeah I think I'll be okay."
–
The tower was right around the block when you pulled Peter to the side. "Okay there's probably something I should tell you." You said worried, with you brows furrowed and arms crossed.
Peter responded with a worried look.
"My dad is Tony Stark, you know, genius billionaire playboy philanthropist. Uh- Iron Man."
"Uh, yeah I know." Peter responded looking at the ground.
"What?" You said, taken aback.
"Um, well everyone in school knows your last name, and I kind of work for him?"
"Ohhh! You're the Peter who has an internship with him? Why haven't I ever seen you at the tower?"
"My work is mostly uh- on the field." He looked down.
You nodded. "And I guess I just never thought people paid attention to my last name." You shrugged.
"What do you mean! You're like, so popular! You're a Stark!" Peter said excitedly, fascinated that you didn't know how famous you were at school.
"Yeah, I'm a Stark." You said annoyed.
"No, y/n I didn't mean it like that, just people know who you are, I guess."
"I guess it would just be nice to not question if my friends really liked me or if they just wanted to be seen with me." You said, getting kind of deep with someone you barely knew. Something about Peter made you feel comfortable.
"Hey, you'll never have to question that with me okay?" Peter said, putting his hand on your shoulder.
"Thanks Peter," You said sweetly. "Hey um, put my number into your phone, maybe we can hang out outside of work some time?" You asked, kind of nervous for some reason.
"I don't know, scooping ice cream is already pretty fun." Peter joked while taking your phone and putting his number in.
"I don't know, scooping ice cream isn't my ideal version of a date," you said bravely.
Peter looked up at you with wide eyes and blushed, "Oh! Uh yeah! Me neither." He said trying to pretend like he wasn't freaking out that the most beautiful girl just asked him out.
"Well I'll see you later Pete," you said walking into the front doors of the tower. "For our date." You smiled.
"Yeah, our date." He said back to you, blushing and grinning from ear to ear.
