The House of Horrors

Part 5

2 p.m. in the Afternoon

"We shouldn't split up." said Kayla.

"This is the only way to get everything before dawn tomorrow!" Bella shouted at Kayla making her look down in fear.

"Hayden, you take Kayla and Rebecca to the lake and search for the boat house. Apparently there is a hidden boat that only the pure of heart can see. Logan, you and Bella go find the amulet of spirits deep in the woods somewhere. The light of a ghost will be able to lead you. Then me and Carter will take Stella and Drake to the cavern where we will begin to set up the ritual and the third item we already have right here." Danny held up the book as he continued to speak. "Now let's go before it gets dark."

Kayla and Hayden lead Rebecca to the lake. Bella and Logan followed them but separated when they saw the tree described in the book while Danny lead the other three to the cavern to set up with the ouija board in hand.

Hayden took lead while Rebecca and Kayla fell behind a bit and started to chat, "I think you should kiss him just in case you know...we don't make it out of here." suggested Rebecca talking about Hayden.

"I guess it couldn't hurt. But I don't know, how do I know if he likes me?" Kayla asked. Rebecca just stopped and stared at Kayla.

"Are you that stupid? He is like in love with you." Rebecca said turning back to start walking. "Plus most likely we are going to die."

Hayden saw a wooden building on the edge of the lake most likely the boat house. When the two girls caught up to him, Hayden turned to face Kayla, "Only the pure of heart can see the boat, you will  need to go on the boat and see where it takes you. You can do this Kayla." Kayla nodded before turning to face Rebecca then she quickly turned back to Hayden and kissed him quickly before walking to the wooden boat house and opening the door going inside.

"We've been walking for so long and we still haven't found this spirit that is supposed to lead us." Bella complained. Logan grabbed her hand dragging her along with him making her stumble a bit here and there. "And who put Danny in charge?"

Logan stopped her before he went any further and glared at her, "I love you and all, but you're being a complete asshole to Danny who is just trying get us out of here." Logan turned away hearing something crack in the distance.

"Did you hear that?" She asked.

"Yep," Logan responded keeping his eyes open for anything suspicious. A bunny appeared from under some bushes and Logan sighed in relief. "Thank god it's just a bunny." He said holding his chest. The bunny saw Logan and Bella and it's mouth started to get big making it so you could see fangs forming in its tiny mouth.

"Not a normal bunny!" Logan said as he grabbed Bella and started running the opposite way down another path.

Carter helped Stella into the cavern leaving Danny and Drake alone outside for the first time allowing Drake to finally talk to Danny.

"Why did you bring another guy here? Did you think it would make me jealous?" Drake asked one question after the other, Danny turned around and headed into the cave while saying, "Apparently it worked." Danny entered the cave disappearing from Drake's view. He punched a tree right next to him in a fit of anger hurting his hand.

When he turned back around to head into the cave, there was a family around him. His mother, father, and two little twin brothers were all glaring at him.

"It's not what it looks like!" Drake shouted at his family.

"No, what it looks like is my oldest son his fucking a little twink. And he likes it. You will rot in hell forever." Drake's father told him. His mother was praying the rosary the whole time while his little brothers coward in fear.

"No, no, no! It's not like that!" Drake kept screaming over and over until someone was shaking him. It was Danny. Danny pulled the boy into a hug that lasted what felt like forever, Danny slowly stroked Drake's head calming him down as he said, "It's okay, I'm here now."

Kayla was looking around in the boat house looking for this boat that would take her somewhere. She was going through the junk and trash all over the floor of the boat house.

When she did that a hatch opened and Kayla slowly crept over to it to peak inside seeing a rowboat. She hopped down into the boat and it started to move through some tunnels underneath the water taking her somewhere.

Rebecca and Hayden were waiting for Kayla to get back and they were passing the time by skipping rocks into the water. Rebecca turned to Hayden with a devilish look in her eye. She had a rock in her hand holding it up.

"What are you doing?" He asked the girl as she threw the rock at Hayden hitting him right in the head making him drop to the ground holding his head. Blood gushing out of the spot the rock hit. "Rebecca stop!" He shouted trying to back up, but Rebecca came over and stomped on his hand breaking Hayden's hand. "Ahhh!" He shouted in pain. Then she grabbed a stick from the ground swinging it hitting Hayden across the face making him fall to the ground unconscious.

"Boys, always have been a problem for me. And I like this body. It's hot." Rebecca walked away from the boat house dragging Hayden with her.

Bella let go of Logan's hand and started running faster than him as she followed a path that she hadn't seen before with Logan right behind her.

"This bunny demon creature is terrifying!" Bella shouted as she turned a corner hiding behind a tree with Logan behind another. When Bella looked forward she saw an altar sitting behind a rock with a small green pond to the side of it. There was moss and vines everywhere around it. "Logan look, we found it." Bella pointed at the altar looking thing.

Logan and Bella quickly got over to the altar and saw the amulet in a glass container. "The demon bunny was the ghost that lead us here." Logan told Bella.

Bella picked up the amulet and thought it was pretty so she put it on. Logan wasn't sure of that was a good idea to put the spirit necklace on.

Bella turned around when she heard a scream. "Did you hear that Logan?!" asked Bella.

"No, but I think we should get to the cavern quickly." Logan suggested grabbing Bella's hand once more walking to the location Danny had told him to go to.

Carter helped Stella onto a rock to rest while he turned around expecting Danny and Drake right behind him, but it wasn't Danny or Drake, it was an man holding a gun.  Carter backed up to a wall with Stella very scared not sure what to do.

"Carter who is he?" Stella asked.

"My...f-f-father, w-who killed himself?" Carter said tripping over a rock falling hitting his head on a rock. He fell unconscious.

Stella stood up limping over to Carter shaking him trying to wake him up, but it wasn't working. She felt his pulse, nothing. Carter was dead from the impact.

The man slowly walked towards Stella holding up the gun right at Stella's head, but was stopped when Danny and Drake came running in making the man disappear.

"Stella, what happened?" Danny asked.

"He's dead." Stella sobbed making Danny drop to his knees grabbing Carter's hand. Danny cried, "This is my fault, why did I try and make Drake jealous, you didn't deserve this." Stella wiped the tears from her eyes as Drake put his hand on Danny's shoulder. "How could I?!" Danny shouted.
