HAYES POV
"Wakey wakey," I heard Jayden say, trying to wake me up.
I groaned. "What time is it?"
"Time for you to wake up," Jayden said sarcastically.
I sat up, and rubbed my eyes. It was still pretty dark outside. I checked my watch.
"Why did you wake me up?! It's 5 in the morning," I complained.
"To make sure my mom doesn't see you," Jayden said.
"You're crazy," I replied.
"At least I'm not boring," Jayden remarked.
I stifled a laugh.
"Let's get outta here," I insisted. I stood, and put my hand out for her to grab.
"Where?" Jayden asked looking confused, and latching on to my hand.
"Anywhere. Let's just go," I told her.
"I'm going to leave a note for my mom," Jayden said.
I nodded, and she walked off.
There's something about Jayden that's so wonderfully beautiful. She's so mysterious, and likes to do things other girls don't. She's different, and I like different.
"Okay, let's hit it," She exclaimed.
We walked over to her car, and I wanted to drive. She sat in the passenger seat beside me, and we drove away. I knew exactly where I was taking her.
"Where are we going?" Jayden asked.
"It's a surprise," I remarked.
"I don't like surprises," She grumbled.
"Hey. Don't be sad, be glad," I said with a cheesy smile.
"I'm not sad. I'm curious," Jayden said, with a smile.
"Here we are!" I exclaimed.
We pulled up to the East Coast of California beach.
I hopped out of her jeep, and opened the passenger door for her. I grabbed on to her hand, and started to run.
"Whoa whoa, slow down," She said laughing.
We got to the shore, and I slowed down. I sat down, and pulled her down with me.
"What are we doing?" Jayden asked me with a curious look.
"Watching the sunrise. It's all the best watching it here. I would know," I said a pain starting in my chest.
"Why would you know? Do you bring all your girlfriends here?" Jayden said rolling her eyes.
"No. You're the only one I've ever brought here. I used to come here with my mother," I replied, looking off in to the ocean.
"Why don't you bring her here anymore?" Jayden asked with a curious look.
"She committed suicide. She always told me she was fine. She always told me we would be okay. She smiled all the time. I didn't understand why she killed herself. She was so cheery. But all that cheeriness was hiding her depression. She died of an overdose, when I was 14," I told her, not caring if I was crying.
She grabbed my hand, and tilted my head towards hers.
"I'm sorry. I wish I could've met her. Because me, and her. Well we sound a lot alike," Jayden said with a sad smile.
I grabbed her other hand, and pulled her into me. I was still shaking, from all the tears.
"She left me a note. I remember exactly what it said. It said:
Dear Hayes,
I love you. I know this is a horrible thing for me to do to you. But, I couldn't take the pain anymore. I wasn't strong enough. You were the only thing keeping me alive. I wanted to be here for you, I did. But I didn't want to be sad all the time. I'm so so sorry Hayes. Please forgive me. I hope you are happy all of your life, unlike I was. I love you so so so much.
Sincerely,
Mom
P.s. I love you
P.P.S Make sure when you bring someone to watch the sunrise, she's special."I was bawling by now. I'm such an unmanly man. I looked over at Jayden, and by then she was crying too. We just sat there holding each other, and forgetting all about the sunrise.

JAYDEN POV"Jayden! Honey, you're home! Hi baby," My mom said hugging me.
"Hi mom," I smiled, kissing her head.
"Where'd you go this morning?" She asked curiously.
"The beach. With my friend," I stated simply.
"Friend? Who is this friend?" My mom asked with a wink.
"His name is-" I started.
"Oooo! A boy!" My mom rudely interrupted, with a wink.
I laughed. "He's just a friend."
"His name?" My mom asked.
"Hayes," I said with a corny smile plastered on my face.
"Ohh. You should invite him for dinner tomorrow night!" My mom suggested with a smile.
"I don't know-" I started.
"I want to meet him!" My mom pouted.
"Fine," I agreed.
"Yay!" She yelled. My mom was literally such a kid.
"Now go up to bed, missy. School tomorrow," My mom said jokingly.
"Monday, yipppeeee," I grumbled.
My mom laughed, and gave me a hug, before I went up to my room. I laid on my bed, and thought about Hayes. I feel so bad for him, and his mom. Nobody deserves to be so sad. Nobody deserves to die a horrifying death.
I started to close my eyes, when I heard a beep! I looked down at my phone to see a text from Hayes.
Hey Jayden. Thanks for this morning. :) -Hayes
I had a smile on my face by then.
Of course. :) Ready for school tomorrow?!!! -Jayden
He replied instantly.
Hell no. Bunch of fake people, with a bunch of fake friends. -Hayes
Lol same here. But at least we'll have each other.. -Jayden
Oo was that too sappy? Mm. Whatever.
Yeah. Can't wait to see you -Hayes
Is he flirting?
:) Im going to bed. Sweet dreams -Jayden
He didn't reply after that. I didn't flirt back... Why is he in my head so much? I just fricken met the guy.
I eventually dozed off... with dreams of Hayes.
