HAYES POV

I can't believe it. Jayden, might actually like me. Maybe not though.

I drove home with a huge smile plastered on my face. She was for sure jealous, when she saw Caroline, and I. I could tell.

I turned on the radio, and jammed to some Beyoncé on the way home. Okay, Beyoncé is queen, don't judge.

I pulled in to my driveway, and saw... my ex? Oh God. What is she doing here?

I jumped out of my car, and walked toward her.

"What the hell, Penny? What are you doing here?" I asked with a expression of mixed feelings.

Okay, so me and Penny go way back. We were best friends when we were young, and blah blah blah. She was my first love. We dated for 3 years, and one day she told me she had to move, because her dad got a promotion. All the way to New York. We broke up before she left, because we both knew long distance relationships didn't work. It was one of the hardest times of my life, to leave her.

"I'm back. I'm back from New York. I moved back," Penny said standing up.

She walked toward me, and gave me a huge hug. I smiled. I missed Penny.

"I've missed you," She breathed.

"I've missed you too, Pen," I said, still in her embrace.

She stepped back, and smiled. "We should go to Mixey Monty's Pizzeria!"

I thought for a moment. Why the hell not?

I nodded, and grabbed her hand. We hopped in to my car, and sped off. It was nice to have her back, but I don't love her anymore. I have my eyes on someone very special.

Jay.

On the way to get pizza, she told me all about what she did in New York, who she met, and how much she wished she was here instead of New York. But, as of what she told me that she did, she loved New York. We pulled in to the pizzeria, and we got a booth.

"So, what's new here?" Penny asked, with a smirk.

"What's with the smirk?" I chuckled.

"Any special girls?" Penny asked, with a wink.

I kept silent. I'm not sure, if I should tell her about Jayden. I'm not even serious or anything with her yet.

"There is! I can tell by you're facial expression," Penny laughed.

My face went red.

"Aw, what's her name?" Penny asked, nudging my arm with her elbow.

"Jayden," I stated simply, with heat rising to my face.

She tried to keep happy about this, but I could tell she was jealous.

"How cute. Does she like you?" Penny asked, with a small smile.

"I dunno," I replied, with a shrug.

"Oh."

"What's wrong, Pen?"

"Nothing."

"There is something wrong. I know it," I said, not believing her at all.

"Well... The only reason I came back is for you Hayes. You make me crazy! You know that? I've missed you for 3 years. And, when I come back I'm replaced! I am in love with you, Hayes," Penny exclaimed, putting her face in her hands.

Everyone turned their heads to look us.

She still loves me? It's been three years?

"Penny. You can't tell me that I replaced you. We both agreed to go our separate ways. I know you don't still love me. You're just so used to us. Me and you is the only thing you've ever known. Don't be scared to move on, Pen. You can't just come back three years later, and expect me to love you as soon as I see you. I've moved on, Penny. But I still want to be best friends. I can't lose your friendship Penny," I said, feeling like I was begging for her.

She looked awestruck.

"Hayes. You don't understand. I have to tried to destroy, forget, and kill my love for you, but I can't. I've tried! But, I understand about me leaving for three years. I understand that I just can't walk right back in to your life again, but Hayes I will wait an eternity for you if I have to. I will. I want you so bad, Hayes," She cried, tears rolling down her face.

"Penny, let's go. C'mon," I grabbed her hand, and lead her out of the Pizzeria.

"Let me bring you home," I said. As I was about to drive off, I saw Jayden looking at us with a horrified look on her face. Shit. This looks bad.

"Pen. Stay here, I'll be right back," I said, patting her head, and stepping out of the car. I ran towards Jayden.

"Don't you ever! Talk to me again! You hear me?!" She screeched, as she melted down on to the sidewalk.

"Jayden, please just let me explain," I cried.

"NO! Get away from me! I wish I never met you! Stay away! I swear you talk or touch me I will call the police!" She yelled, running across the street.

"JAYDEN! NO WATCH OUT-!" I started to yell as I saw a car coming.

I ran to her, and pushed her out of the way, before she could be hit. And then.... everything turned black.
