Gen x Girlfriend Reader : Part 1

Gen : It's true, Tsukasa-chan. I'm not lying. She can be useful. And having her with me will make me extra motivated to accomplish my mission.

Tsukasa frowned at his new subject's request. He revived Gen to send him on a very important mission. His current goal was to find out if Senku was alive or not, yet Gen was now asking him to revive a second person that Tsukasa had no interest in.

_______ was one of Gen's most loyal fans. The young mentalist was a fairly successful personality in the 21st century so he obviously had a lot of supporters, but _______ was special. She was his first fan, his childhood friend and also his girlfriend. She was one of the few people Gen truly cared about, and now she was a statue.

After waking up in this Stone World, Gen had no other choice than to follow Tsukasa's orders. He understood the situation he was in. The year was 5739. All of Humanity turned to stone, he was revived and had to obey. Of course he understood, he understood without any of it feeling real at all to him. But finding _______'s statue near the Empire of Might's territory is what made him realize in the most brutal of ways that all of this was the truth. It was not a prank, it was not an illusion, his precious childhood friend was petrified. Somehow, her rigid body was still in one piece.

Gen couldn't stand the idea of her being in such a state. Her shiny eyes were always full of amazement at the many magic tricks he used to show her three millennias ago, now they seemed lifeless like the rest of her body. She was cold, so cold, but she was still alive. Gen's thoughts were a strange mix of despair and pure happiness. It was crazy but so was he, so when Tsukasa asked him to accomplish this mission, _______'s revival and safety were Gen's requirements to accept.

Tsukasa : As expected, I knew you would ask me for a payment, Gen Asagiri. I know your type. But of all things, I never would have thought that your price would be the revival of your lover. You're more kind-hearted than I expected. It shows that you are pure and that you deserve to live. However, I know nothing about her. Is she as worthy as you are of living in the perfect world I will create? 

Gen : I can assure you that she's the sweetest girl ever.

Tsukasa : We will see. I will revive this woman for you but if she ever shows any sign of malice or if she becomes an obstacle somehow, I will kill her. Do you understand ?

Gen gulped. Tsukasa looked and sounded like a god. He was what the person in front of him saw, a king.

Gen : Thank you, Tsukasa-chan... Thank you...

The layers of stone covering _______'s body started to crack, and a few seconds later...

_______ : Ah...?

Gen was mesmerised. There was something about this vision of her breaking free from the petrification that was absolutely beautiful.

Gen : _______-chan...

Gen caught _______ in his arms. She looked up and saw his face for the first time in more than three thousand years.

_______ : Gen... What happened? You look so sad.

Gen : No... I'm happy, _______-chan. You... You're alive, you're not a statue... We can talk, we can look at each other, we can touch each other... We both live in the same world at the same time. Really, this is all I need... Why woud I be sad?

_______ : But what's this scar on your face? 

_______ extended her hand to touch Gen's face, more precisely the petrification scar on his left side. She ran her finger down his cheek. Gen closed his eyes, enjoyed the soft sensation of her hand on his skin.

Gen : _______-chan...

Tsukasa : What a touching reunion. I am surprised, Gen Asagiri. But don't forget who saved her, don't ever forget it. I give you until tomorrow to spend all the time you want with her, then you will go and accomplish you mission. Find out if Senku is alive or not, mentalist. This woman's presence will definitely make you want to come back.

Tsukasa had his doubts before reviving _______, but now, they were gone. The way Gen and her looked at each other was all the proof he needed. He was now convinced that this woman would be more than useful. She was a perfect leash to keep Gen's dangerous mind in control. Also...

Tsukasa : Gen, your girlfriend is very pretty.
