Layla woke up and tried to stretch, but whimpered from the minor pains her body had. As her body started to wake up she noticed some very odd smells...and sounds. Mostly very pleasant and nice, but odd and incredibly unfamiliar. She opened her eyes and all she saw was darkness... or maybe she was blind. As the panic was about to set in she heard a sound of water from a slit of light from underneath a door. She touched her chest relived that she wasn't blind. However, she looked around and things were starting to get a lot clearer even with it being pitch black, but now the panic of where the hell she was and how she got here was really starting to worry her. She went to rub her face when she noticed her arm had a bandage all the way up to her elbow and she had a Band-Aid on her cheek and another bandage taped to the side of her neck amongst the many pains on her body.
"What happened?" She whispered to herself.
When the room filled with a much brighter glow than any candles. Her eyes burned making her quickly pull the blanket up over her head. She could hear footsteps and more new smells. She pulled the blanket from her head and looked around; the room...it was nothing like she had ever seen before. It had white walls with a light in the ceiling above her.
"No candles?" She wondered.
The room was very small just big enough for the bed, two large chairs, a few monitors and a large black box hanging on the wall in front of her.
"What boring art." She thought.
The bed was a lot smaller than her own; it had white sheets that were scratchy against her skin and didn't keep her a bit warm.
Layla looked around for the person who was behind the door, but she didn't see anyone.
"Hello." She whispered.
Then behind a door she heard water again, then it turning off. She heard some clicking and loud banging some more clicking and then the door opened. She panicked and covered her head a little pulling the blanket up to just above her eyes, once curiosity won her over she pulled the blanket from her head and saw a physician in what she was going to assume was the bathroom. He was rummaging through a cupboard.
"Good Evening." Layla said slowly.
He looked up with a huge smile growing on his face. "Good Evening, Layla" He replied.
He went back to rummaging in the cupboard. Layla giggled and slid to the edge of the bed and then stood up. She noticed she was wearing a very large oversized button up long sleeve shirt that wasn't her; it was defiantly a brothers. She looked at it and smoothed it down her body.
"Must be a brothers, I wonder what one?" she wondered.
"Where is it I am?" She asked.
"Your new home." The physician said pulling stuff out of the cupboard and putting them in baskets.
"And that is?" She asked watching him.
"Well it's not Haven." The doctor answered, as he was counting things off his list and putting them in two different baskets.
"Oh?"
He looked at her and then quickly had to take a double look.
"Layla, get back in that bed right now!" He shouted.
She jumped almost falling to the ground, she caught herself on the edge of the bed, thank the goddess.
"Why?" she asked as she got her balance.
She took a deep breath; her heart was beating so hard she thought it was going to pound right out of her chest.
"You are not strong enough to be out of bed yet." He replied and went to help her.
