An Apocalypse for the Damned

ch 1. "on the road"

  The young k-9 yawned through his neon green and black gas mask.he then licked his lips;barely being able to because of the restriction on movement the gas mask made. Hunter was own known for his weird fetish with wearing the mask by his old friends; now his current team mates which they all treated like family. Anyway from Hunter's point of view it was quiet a helper,he didn't need to back up from an area when the Geiger went off ,he usually found out it was some old pipe that was buried under the sand and dirt that covered the now lost, forgotten land. Not only it helped with radiation of course in Hunter's book if he came across someone he didn't have to show his face. if it turned out to be a rabid that was sane engouth to talk and function just like him ,he wouldn't have to worry about him giving a description of what he looked like.
Though that sounded really bad in his head he understood what he meant  so he didn't have to worry about it, he then sighed and gripped the strap that was strung over his shoulder that was holding his "black ops sniper rifle s"on his back, he then would glance at his two friends as he lifted his pack up more, the k-9 mix, wolf and loin all walked queitly down the unforgiven bent up road in the city of butter county in Pennsylvania. Most people couldn't remember what city's name's were anymore since the explosions; others were born into bare unforgiven planted that once was filled with beauty and love.
  

    The dark clouds rolled above the abandoned city for a while as the night began to settle in the United States. The three of them found an old falling apart apartment building that was left unlooked after ,when the explosions happened.
   

   It was quiet and still,not much happened there accept the nose the boys made getting their stuff off their backs and chests before clearing the building they the would head to the floor that seemed the safest. Instead of choosing one room they blocked off the stairs and locked the door so then only they could move the stuff and unlock it, and after that it was silent for good ten minutes as they cleared the floor. Then a yawn could be heard as the wolf known as miles set his stuff down by a window he then looked around "I suggest boarding up the windows the best we can if we plan on staying here for a good few days to rest before finding a good place, maybe we should to Alaska?"he asked sitting down
Hunter sighed " no ,no good me an you can take the cold but I don't believe loins are used to snow at all,unless he's moved from time to time"

  Jake yawned and watched them before wiping his nose,he then sat his stuff down as well "I've lived down south my whole life till 5he explosions happened then I got stuck in this part of the woods,"he said and sat down, taking off hi hiking boots to let his paws breathe
Hunter nodded and pulled off the gasmask, showing the scar above his right eye. Hunter was ex military he had just finished his first deployment before the world fell, he was helpless against I since it was happening everywhere. The young adult sighed and sat down with the other two "maybe stay in this are find a good house? Maybe a few if we find more people along the way and make it home, I mean it's not so bad up here In the summer then Down south ,"
He said thinking before he licked his muzzle cleaning some dust that had settled on his mouth while having the gas mask on. He then snapped his fingers "yes! Theirs a few rivers around here! We can use those in the summer and clean the water and I the winter when the river freezes well gather snow and melt it. It works perfectly all w have to do is find the right spot to call home that's not to far from the river about 10 to 20 minutes away from it hopefully" he said with a smug look on his face like he had just fix all their problems
Jake and mile laugh Abit before smiling "well I don't think staying in spot is really good unless it's fortified and safe,i suggest maybe hauling ass up to lake Eire were there's aleast a lake and I bet you my tail there's other souls there. " Jak had spoken up and leaned back " mighy be colder for me but I got a big fur pelt I can grow out Along the way anyways so I should be in the same boat as you two soon enough"he said closing his eyes Abit before sighing he then got up and pulled his shoes on "alright let's find what we can for the window and then Clean this place up,hell maybe we can make this a rest point for other animals in the area so a least their safe,"he suggest before heading into one of the 8 rooms on the 3rd floor.
The other two did the same a few hours past, they ha bored up the window and made sure the stairs were secure as well. It was about 11pm ish by how dark the sky was but they weren't quiet to sure,all they knew was it was late. After the three hours of cleaning the apartments look brand-new, or how they most likely did.
The three then chose one to stay in for the night ,they then would clean up the other ones so more people can sleep if their group grew but they also made one a food storage. They also made one were it was super secure where you can hide if you were ever under attack.
As the night carried on the three predators made them selves at home and soon fell asleep.
