Aunt Josette^^ Portrayed by Julianne Moore
Evangeline's POV
"Aunt Josette, I think I need your help!" I called out when I saw our small cabin.
"Evangeline, what have you done now?!" Aunt Josette hollered back. "Oh my," she stuttered when she saw the giant brown wolf behind me.
"He needs help, Auntie. Can you help him?" I asked.
"Evangeline, do you even know who he is? He is a shifter. You can easily tell by the size. Merde," She said going back inside the house. She came back out with a first aid kit and some towels as well as a men's ... robe? (translation: Shit)
"What is that for?"
"For when he shifts." She turned towards the big wolf. "You need to shift back if you want us to clean and dress your wound."
I turned around and heard the soft grunts of the wolf behind me. There was some shuffling and my aunt gave the all-clear. I turned back around and looked at the shifter. He was tall, medium build, brown hair and eyes, tan skin, and he had a tribal tattoo on his right shoulder.
"How did this happen?" Auntie asked.
"I got my leg caught in a bear trap," he said. His voice sounded smooth, like honey.
"And how did you get it out?" Auntie looked at me with suspicious eyes.
"I helped him," I said returning to her side to dress the wound. "Magically," I muttered the last big hoping she wouldn't hear me.
"You know you are not supposed to use your magic in front of people."
"Well, I didn't think it was a big deal and besides he needed help. I wasn't just going to leave him there to die."
"I won't tell anyone. I swear," the man said.
"I know you won't but that's beside the point," Auntie said finishing dressing the wound. "Let's get you inside and your leg up. It's almost time for supper."
We helped him walk inside and led him over to our couch. I helped put pillows under his leg to prop it up. "So what's your name?" I asked giving him a blanket though he didn't need it judging by how hot his body temp was.
"My name's Jacob," He said.
*One Week Later* Back in La Push
Dawn's POV
Jacob's been gone for a week and it's the day of the wedding. I already told Bella and Alice no to being apart of the wedding. Both of whom decided to ignore me and placed me as a bridesmaid. Sent me a dress and everything. The entire pack's been on edge. The vampire activity has been low but they were still worried about the Cullen's. More boys have phased since the arrival of Cullen relatives.
I sat at the vanity Sam made for me in our room. I looked in the mirror at the bridesmaids dress and softly shook my head. I looked down in my lap at the sonogram photo I had done earlier yesterday. It was set neatly in a frame that said 'Boy or Girl?'. I planned to give it to Sam after the party. He's been so worried that something bad was going to happen.
I placed it in a box and set it in the bottom drawer of the vanity. I proceeded to put on my make up for the party. I curled my hair as well before walking over to the closet to pick out a dress.
I heard the bedroom door open and I peeked my head out to find Sam walking into the room. "Are you sure you should be going?" He asked sitting down on the bed.
"Sam, I'm fine. Everything's going to be okay. Seth will be with me and you know they won't try anything with all the humans around," I said going to sit next to him on the bed.
"I'm not talking about the Cullens. I'm talking about this morning. It's the third time you've been sick in the past week. I'm worried."
"I'm perfectly fine I promise but there is something we need to talk about tonight when I get back."
"What is it?"
"You have to wait. Let's get through one problem before we worry about any more. You are stressed enough."
"Is it so wrong that I don't want anything to happen to my fiance?"
I moved my body so my legs were straddling him. "It isn't wrong. What's happening is a good thing, I promise but if I tell you now you won't let me go to the wedding. And this is something I need to do. I need to say goodbye to my friend."
"If I swear to still let you go to the wedding will you tell me?"
"You have to triple swear that you won't freak out."
"I triple swear."
I got off of his lap and walked over to the vanity. I reached in the bottom drawer and took out the box before giving it to Sam. He looked at me with a questioning look and I just nodded my head before looking at the ground like it was the most fascinating thing. I heard him open the lid and dig around the tissue paper. I dared to risk a look at his reaction. His eyes went wide and his knuckles turned white from gripping the frame so hard.
"Sam, please say something," I pleaded tears coming to my eyes.
"How long have you known?" Sam asked.
"I went to the doctors a week after you proposed... Are you mad at me?" I whispered. Tears fled from my eyes and I brought my hands protectively around my midsection.
He set the picture frame by his side and kneeled before me. He carefully moved my hand and replaced it with his own. "My baby... Our baby..." he whispered. He bunched up my shirt before placing several kisses along my stomach. "Why didn't you tell me?"
I led him back to bed and we laid down, me tucked into his side, his arm wrapped protectively around me. "I didn't want to worry you. First Jake left, then Bella announced her marriage, you're hardly home and when you are you are always so tired. I wanted to wait until things calmed down but it looks like that was never going to happen."
He brought his hand down to my stomach and softly rubbed it. "I wish you had told me but I understand why you wanted to wait... I know I promised you that you could still go to the wedding but I would feel better if I went with you."
"I would expect nothing less."
I hopped out of bed and walked over to the vanity to touch up my make up. Once that was finished I changed into the dress I bought. It was a knee-length blue and green spaghetti strap dress with a sweetheart neckline. Sam walked over to me and placed a few soft kisses along the crook of my neck. I tiled my neck to give him easier access. "We're gonna be late."
"Then let's be really late," he said before kissing me on the lips.
