Blackmail

**Hawks's POV**

I did everything that the League asked for me. They accepted me better than the heroes ever have.

Then I got the call, Endeavor is awake and my boss wants me to talk to him. Here I am, standing in front of the hospital room door with the press behind me. I walked into the room and the press stayed outside.

"Hawks, come here." Endeavor demanded as soon as I closed the door.

"I'm good, I prefer closer to the door."

A quick shot of flame caused me to jump back closer to him. I noticed the large scar over his eye. At least he is now matching his youngest son. He deserves it.

"If you don't come closer, I will ask my boss to bring one of my fans in for one on one training."

Those poor kids, beaten up by their favorite hero, they will be scarred for life inside and out. He knows that I would do anything to protect children. I walked closer to him until I  stood at his side.

"You can't do much, the press will hear my screams."

"This room is completely soundproof. I requested it by telling the hospital staff that I scream in my sleep from nightmares. Take off your shirt."

No one can hear me scream or cry for help. As soon as my shirt was off, he yanked me on top of him. He summoned a small flame and started to burn some thing into my collarbone. The pain was unbearable and he had my arms pinned together. As soon as he was done, he tossed me to the ground. I barely looked down but the words were forever stuck in my head.

I could barely move my left arm as I put my shirt and jacket back on. The cloth was scrapping against the fresh burn.

"You can leave now, tell the idiot press that I am too tired for questions."

I was silent as I walked out and put on a fake happy face. Then I walked over to my boss and whispered in their ear.

"Endeavor is too tired for them and I am going to go for a patrol."

They repeated the message and I flew off to get a drink to numb the pain.
