"when did you...die?" minho asked jisung cautiously, not sure if he should be asking a question like that. the boys had settled down on the edge of the river bank, both their legs dangling above the water.

after minho managed to convince himself that he wasn't getting pranked, the boys reintroduced themselves to each other and started talking. jisung was surprised that minho hadn't run away by now. after all, he was a ghost.

"5 years ago? i was 18 when i passed away so im stuck being 18 for the rest of my time in this world" jisung says as he lets out a tired sigh. being 18 was fun but he had been 18 for the paat 5 years. he should've been 23 by now but his voice was still high and he was still as immature.

"wait, im 18 too!" minho exclaims, making jisung smile a little. despite the weird situation they were both in, jisung still couldn't help but smile upon looking at minho. if he could blush, his face would probably be red as tomato by now. thank god he couldn't blush.

"have you met anyone else who can see you?" minho asks curiously. jisung shakes his head in dismay, "you're the first to see me, that's why i got so scared earlier on" minho nods his head slowly, feeling bad for jisung.

"it must've been really lonely, huh? 5 years all by yourself. i'm sorry you had to go through that" minho says as he looks at jisung. jisung looks up at the sky, smiling brightly. "it's been quite fun, actually. but there must be a reason why i'm still stuck in this world, right?"

minho nods, "exactly, i've read books like that before. how some souls are stuck on earth. do you have any idea why you're stuck? maybe something happened before u died"

jisung frowns a little, scrunching his eyebrows as he tries to recall his past. "no, i don't think so" jisung says as he shakes his head. minho lets out a disappointed sigh, "it's okay, we will find a way together"

we. for the first time, jisung had someone with him. he wasn't alone anymore. he had minho with him.

"c'mon, i'll show you my secret place" jisung says as he stands up. minho glances up at jisung before pushing himself off the ground, brushing away the strands of grass off his pants. "where are we going?" he asks as he follows jisung who was walking away from the river bank.

"you'll see. it's a secret place that no one knows"

the boys walk for a few minutes, and minho found themselves walking further away from the village. "wait...you're not planning to kill me or anything right?" he asks, earning a scoff from jisung. "please, i couldn't do that even if i wanted to."

jisung comes to a stop in front of a tall concrete wall which was covered with hanging vines so thick that you could barely even see the wall. "what's this?" minho asks in confusion.

jisung doesn't respond. instead, he sticks out both his hands and pulls the vines away from each other, just like a curtain. once the vines were out of sight, minho sees a small wooden door.

"oh my god, this is exactly like that movie i watched" minho says as he brings his hand up to his gaping mouth. jisung laughs as he pushes open the wooden door and walks in, minho follows him in amazement.

it was a secret garden that was filled with all types of flora and fauna, there was even a small pond that seemed to be filled with the most beautiful fishes. there was light streaming in from the glass panels and the air felt warm and fresh. "holy shit" minho mummers to himself as he takes in the entire view.

jisung sits down on a bench, smiling as he quietly observed minho's reaction. he had found this place not long ago upon arriving. he had no idea how no one else knew about this place, but jisung was glad that this was a secret place.

now, he had someone else to share it with. even though he barely knows minho, sharing this secret with him made jisung smile.

"do you come here a lot?" minho asks.

"yes i do. i come here whenever i'm bored. the people in this town can be so boring" jisung groans, making minho laugh.

"wait, why did you even move to this town? it's the worst place you can come to" jisung asks minho who rolls his eyes.

"my parents, obviously. they think i spend too much time on my phone and games so they think i should stay at my grandparent's house for a short while to detoxify my brains"

jisung snickers, "this is the perfect place for you then, there's like no wifi here" which only makes minho groan more. "how long will you be staying for then?" "im not very sure, i'll have to wait for my parents to decide"

jisung nods silently. of course he knew that minho wouldn't be staying forever. he wasn't sure what he was expecting from minho. but he felt sad for some reason, was it because he didn't want minho to leave ?

after all, it's been so long since he's talked to someone. that must be why jisung didn't minho to leave.

"hey, so what have you been doing for the past 5 years?" minho asks out of curiosity as jisung pats on the empty spot on the bench, motioning for minho to sit beside him.

with that, the two boys spent the rest of the afternoon talking to each other. jisung talked about his life as a ghost, and minho told jisung what his old town was like. the two boys came from two different worlds, yet they somehow managed to fit each other so nicely. like a puzzle piece.

they were each other's missing puzzle piece that they never realised they were missing.
