"Oh, it's you again. . ."
Hera turned to face Kanan as she fit one last binder into her locker. "You didn't drop another pencil, did you?"
Kanan rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. Now that he thought about it, the whole ordeal made him cringe; he was hoping she wouldn't have remembered that.
"Well, uh, no. . I just kind of wanted to check in. Last time you said things weren't going too well."Hera was surprised anyone even asked about how she was doing. "Oh. . yeah, I guess I'm doing better." She sighed. "Could use a break from this place though. . . too bad school's just started."
"Yeah," Kanan agreed awkwardly. "I'm already ready for break."
"Don't I know that feeling. . . I wish I could just go home and get things off my mind. I don't want to have to think about the drama and be stressed out by everything. It feels like everyone else is just so caught up in who's dating who, and who hurt who. . . I don't care. I just want some time to myself. Some time with family. . ."
Hera looked down for a moment, in thought, and then back up at Kanan. "Sorry, I didn't mean to go on about it.""No, it's fine," Kanan said. Truthfully, he admired her for speaking from the heart. Especially in a world with so many judgmental people.
"I feel the same way."Hera nodded silently, her lekku slightly swinging with the movement of her head. A bell suddenly rang throughout the school, signifying the little amount of time left the two had to get to class.
"Anyways, I guess I'll see you later," she said."Yeah, me too. I mean, see you later-"
The two then parted ways and headed to class.

|[ Misty ]|
"Yeah, no problem," Misty said, smiling happily. She had had a crush on Ezra for quite some time now, and seeing him cheer up definitely made her happy, too. His parents weren't in a very good financial situation, so she did all she could to make sure he was getting full during lunch. Yesterday hadn't been the best for him, and even if Misty had left for a few minutes to go and talk to Thrawn, the consideration had brightened his day."Oh, and I got something for you, too." Ezra's blue eyes sparkled with excitement. Misty could tell that he was holding something behind his back.
"Really? What is it?" She asked out of curiosity, causing Ezra to laugh.
"You'll see. But first, close your eyes and hold out your hands. It may not be much, but I wanted you to have it."
Misty opened her mouth to say something as if in protest, but decided against it. Holding out her hands and shutting her eyes tightly, she anticipated the weight of the object falling into her palms. . .
As she felt a force against her hands, her eyes flutered open and she looked down to see what it was he had given her.
A small, framed picture. As she looked at it closer, she saw it was when Ezra had taken her to the dance last year. She had looked beautiful standing by his side in a light blue dress. . . it was one of her most fondest memories.
"How. . .?" Misty asked, unable to keep her eyes off the picture. "How did you. . .?"Ezra smiled proudly. "I saved up as much money as I could from work and bought it yesterday. I figured you might like it."
"Like it. .?"
Misty threw her arms around Ezra and locked him in a tight embrace. "Like is an understatement! I love it!!"
Ezra hugged her back too, knowing he had done the right thing. He was truly grateful to have her as a friend. He didn't know what he'd do without her. . .
