That weekend consisted of me studying, talking to Josh on the phone, and texting Danny and Mariah. Crystal ended up texting me on Sunday and I could tell she was stressin' through the messages. She admitted that she was having a panic attack because she was worried about our upcoming exams. So I called her and we studied together over the phone for a few hours. *
Our first exam on Monday was a math application, from 9 A.M to 11 A.M, but extended to 11:30 A.M for those who needed extra time. The exam went alright for me and I ended early but stayed seated till 11:05 A.M, taking the time to go over my work. I retrieved my belongings after the exam and checked my phone. I had two texts from Nick on Messenger.
Come 2 the library when ur finished 10:55 A.M
Me Lance and Trevor r here 10:55 A.MAnd so that was exactly where I headed. I found the boys sitting in a corner, on some bean bag chairs. Trevor waved me over. I perched on the corner of his bean bag. "You've gotta see this." He held up one of the library tablets and showed me a funny video. For the following couple of minutes, we watched funny YouTube videos.
Then Nick said, "Here comes Josh." We turned around to see Joshua walking over with slumped shoulders.
"Oh no," Trevor muttered, sounding more annoyed than concerned.
I frowned. Joshua reached us and pulled up a chair to sit by Nick. Nick broke the silence. "How was it?" he asked brightly. But then he had to add, "Cause that shit was easy." Maybe for you, I wanted to point out.
"Well fuck you," Joshua mumbled in a whiny tone. "I might fail that exam. And probably everything if I think about it." That was where his rant began, and it went on for a while. The boys tuned him out, focusing on their gadgets. I tried to reason with him.
Finally, Trevor interrupted and said, "Yo, y'all wanna do something? I'm tired of sitting here." He stretched his arms out, purposely hitting me in the side and smirking. I mock-glared at him.
Nick stretched too. "Yeah, you're right. I'm bored. Let's go out."
"Whoa," I protested. "Let's wait for Mariah."
"Ugh," Nick complained. "She always takes a long time to finish her exams."
"Yeah." Lance got up. "She can meet us wherever we're going."
"Aigh't. You guys go, I'll wait here." I stayed seated.
Trevor. "I'll wait with her."
Joshua. "Me too then." Nick sighed and Lance sat back down. We all waited. Ha, like I thought. The boys couldn't stay still. Especially Trevor. He made a bet with Nick that he could jump over a bunch of big tables lined up in a row without pausing. So that happened. It almost ended successfully but then, on the last table, Trevor slipped and flew over the table while knocking it over. Nick helped him up but didn't hide the fact that he was happy Trevor hadn't won the bet.
Seconds later, the librarian popped up out of nowhere, telling Trevor he had to leave the library. So he gathered his things. No one else budged. I grabbed my bag. The others reluctantly got up to leave too. As soon as we exited the library, we ran into Mariah, who was about to enter. "There you are!" she exclaimed, walking up to me.
We all went outside into the sun, hanging out by the picnic tables in front of the school. "So where we goin'?" Lance asked.
"Well," Nick said. "Trevor owes me a KFC lunch since he lost the bet. So, we could start by going to get some food."
Trevor rolled his eyes. "Aigh't, whatever."
Lance. "Then where?"
Nick. "Then, maybe we could hit the mall or something."
