Later that afternoon, everyone texted what time they got home on "The Squad" group chat.
Nick: That was some dramatic shit at the park 3:56 P.M
Mariah: Seriously 3:56 P.M
Lance: Blame Trevor 3:57 P.M
This comment irritated me.
Me: How? You started that shit 3:58 P.M
Lance: 😑ofc u would defend that asshole 3:58 P.M
Asshole?
Me: R u serious?? How is he the asshole? 3:59 P.M

Tell Lance to chill.
Mariah: Fr 4:01 P.M
Joshua joined the chat two minutes later.
Josh: Sup 4:03 P.M
Lance: U good bro? 4:04 P.M
Josh: Ye y? 4:04 P.M

Me? He was telling me to stop the drama? I was so done.

I went onto the group chat settings and removed myself from the conversation. I felt my blood boiling. I couldn't stand fake people. How were we supposed to hang out as a group if one person had to be a drama-starter and talk shit? My phone vibrated as Mariah texted my number, asking if I was okay. Before I could type in a response, Joshua's name popped up as he was calling. I reluctantly picked up. I wasn't in the mood to talk. "Hello?" I mumbled.
"You alright?"
"Yeah..."
"Come back on the chat."
"No."
"Come on. Lance is gonna send you a request to join back."
Ew, Lance? He was the last person I wanted to talk to. "No. I don't need him to do that."
Joshua sighed on the other end. "Carm, what's the problem? Why are you being so difficult?"
Difficult? "Um, I don't know, maybe cause Lance was talking trash about our friend Trevor?"
"Alright, well Lance takes it back and wants to apologize."
I scoffed. "Yeah right."
"Seriously. Come back and he'll apologize."
"Josh-"
"I really want you back on the group chat. Please. It won't be the same without you." I felt stuck. "Come on," Joshua encouraged. "Don't be stubborn."
I chuckled. "I'm always stubborn."
"Don't be for once. Just do this for me."
I rolled my eyes. Ugh. "Alright," I sighed reluctantly.
