- hey readers, it's your friendly neighborhood introvert, coming at you live with a spinel x reader story. I've fallen head over heels for this beautiful pink gem lady, so I decided to write this as a sort of tribute. It's going to suck bc I'm an artist, not a writer, but ya, enjoy. -

It begins, fuck. (No pun intended)
---------------------------------

As you walked down to the board walk, you could hear a party happening in one of the buildings, the music blaring and echoing down the streets as you imagined people laughing and dancing, having a good time. Your eyes looked to the ground as your lips pressed to ether while you bitterly continued to trudge down to the beach.

You're a lonely and quiet person, you're usually very awkward and not good at conversations with other people. You envied people that could be the life of the party, the one everyone wanted to talk to.
You wished to be able to feel the joy of being able to truly interact with someone, to actually enjoy life and worthwhile company for once without the feeling of a knife getting caught in your throat.

You were always afraid of making new friends, you felt like you couldn't trust anyone, and everyone that "wanted" to be your friend was just taking pity on you for being the weird kid or were just doing so just to set up a cruel joke on you. After all, who would want to befriend you? The strange 1000 mile stare girl that hardly talks.

But you were all fine on your own, you were used to it by now. This city is probably full of people just waiting for the chance to backstab someone. It's probably nicer to sit alone at the beach, feeling the cool sand on your skin, breathing in the cool sea air, feeling the wind blow your hair as the waves-.... you jumped in surprise as your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the a huge crash and the sound crumbling wall.

You looked around to figure out the cause of the noise, only to make eye contact with a pink... clown? A glint suddenly caught your eye. A gem!
You've occasionally seen them around, they seem to mostly stay in their... colony wall place... but why was one out so late? And why would it be wrecking the place?

Her face turned towards you with what seemed like a sorrowful and hurt expression as tears ran down her face, her hair harshly ruffled from its repetitively received abuse. "What do YOU want?" She sniffed, wiping a tear from her eye with her gloved hand as she glared at you with her watering eyes. Simply, she looked like a wreck and was obviously in a mental break down.

Your expression softened, and you felt a spark of sympathy for this gem, even though you were still sort of scared of her after what she did to that building, you felt the need to comfort her. It felt odd, you never thought that gems could feel such misery, sure they could feel emotions just like people, but you never expected to see one break down and cry. You fumbled with your words a bit, trying to figure out what to say, "I...uh... nothing, I was just walking nearby... are you alright?" You said timidly taking a few steps toward her.

Her slight glare turned into a full angry expression as she swung at the building again and shouted "DO I LOOK ALRIGHT TO YOU?"
her voice cracked and trailed off into a whisper as she looked down in her growing regret of her carnage and anger, "you probably wouldn't care anyway...."
She looked away as her shoulders lowered shamefully and her arms slithered off the crumbled roof to the ground. You felt a bit more at ease seeing the gem ease up on the building, but seeing her slumped over on the ground like an old broken toy made you feel sad.

You slowly walked towards her as she sobbed on the ground. You gulped, you weren't sure what exactly to do, you were never good at things like this, but it couldn't hurt to try. You knelt down next to her, minding her loose noodle like arms splayed out on the ground. "I... do care..." you said nervously reaching and putting a hand on her shoulder pad "it's going to be alright, you seem like a very nice.... gem, and i don't think anyone deserves to feel upset enough to have to-...uh...wreck buildings." You felt kind of stupid as she turned her head to look at you, while it hung, you saw her expression softening, but you noticed her slightly shaking.

"Could... gems get cold?" You thought, even though it sounded silly, you decided the polite thing to do was to give your jacket. You unzipped it, and despite feeling the rush of unpleasantly cold air you took it off and rested the jacket on her shoulders. She looked surprised, then smiled, reaching out and pulling you into a hug, with her head resting on top of yours.
