The Call

It is 12:30 am. Millia's still thinking about what happened. No, what Ky have told her. Napabangon siya sa kama niya and decided to go downstairs and grab some wine.

FLASHBACK:

"Let me cut you there. I wanted to be with you, Millia. Honestly."

"Did I... surprised you, Millia? At first, I don't know how to handle your request to be your fiancè. Akala ko mahirap tanggapin but eventually, natatanggap ko na cause I can see myself with you."

"But this is my heart want to do. I wanted to know you better, Millia."

She shook her head and put her face in her palm. Gulung-gulo ang isip niya.

No Millia, you should apologize to him.. for being rude..

She's about to text him but she did not expect it. Ky's now calling him. Dali-daling napatayo ang babae sa kinauupuan. Nataranta at natapon pa nito ang alak mula sa baso. She quickly grabbed her phone and undecided if she's going to take the it.

No, I have to.

She clears her throat before answering the call.

"Millia? Thank you for taking my call. I thought tulog ka na. You there?"

"Yeah..yeah.. I'm-"

"I'm sorry. I didn't meant to.. to.. surprise you. Pero to make things clear, gusto kong sabihin sayo that I am serious sa lahat ng sinabi ko."

Millia bit her nail and her heart is racing now. She don't know what to say and her body's froze.

"Uh.. uhm..  I was about to text you and.. and apologize for being rude to you, Ky."

Ky smiled on the other line and that made Millia smile too.

"You're not rude. I expected that you will act that way. Anyway, how are you? Mabuti at gising ka pa."

"Yeah.. uh.. I just grabbed a drink and.. and... di kasi ako makatulog. I think, sleep evades me."

"Drinking wine?"

"Yes."

"Madaya! You should invite me. Malungkot uminom ng mag-isa."

Millia tried not to laugh para di mahalata ni Ky na kinikilig siya.

"Millia? You there?"

"Yeah! So, you want to drink with me?"

"Oo. Wala naman tayong pasok tomorrow. Maybe we can talk, grab some dinner and drink. What do you think?"

She smiled and alam nya sa sarili nyang nanlalamig siya. It was her long time dream to be with the guy she like so much. Yet, that is now happening.

"Sure. Ky?"

"Yes?"

Sandaling tumahimik ang buong lugar ni Millia. She decided to ask Ky about what happened kagabi.

"I'm still thinking about... the things you told me yesterday night. Iyon siguro yung hindi nagpapatulog sa akin."

"Yun ba? I tried not say it to you, but what can I do? That's what my heart wants me to do. Pakiramdam ko, I need to do it."

Millia looked down. Hindi nya pa din maiwasan isipin na dahil lang yun sa pagtulong nya sa binata.

"I'm sorry if I will not believe you this time Ky. Alam kong, ayoko pang sumugal yet I think I did it cause.. cause I asked you a weird favor to be my fiancè."

"Miss Millia Rage, I can't do something about your doubts, but what I can assure you is.. handa akong sumugal and prove to you na totoo lahat ng sinasabi ko."

Nabitawan na ni Millia ang baso ng alak nya. That made Millia realize that she's out of her mind.

"Hey?! Ano yun? Millia?!"

"I... I'm sorry! Nabitawan ko lang yung baso. I'll fix it first.. I'll be right back."

"No wait! Are you okay? Do you want me to go there? Baka masugatan ka!?"

"No! No! Uhm... I'm okay! Really, I'm okay. I'll fix it. Give me a second."

Di naman maiwasan ni Ky na mag-alala kay Millia. Habang naglilinis si Millia ng kalat, those things keep running in her head. She shrug it off. Thinking of Ky will kiss her kapag nagkita sila.

No Millia! That wouldn't happen! Ky won't do it! He definitely won't!

Till she heard Ky's now looking for her.

"Millia? Are you still okay?"

"Yeah! I'm almost done!"

Ky can hear the water running on the other line. After a few minutes, Millia came back.

"Sorry for the wait."

"No problem. Anyways, I booked a reservation for us tomorrow. I'll pick you up at 6 p.m. Are you okay with that?"

Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Millia.

"Woah! That.. that's.. fast! Uhm.. halatang sanay na sanay kang mag-book ng date."

Ky smiled.

"Hindi ah. Ngayon lang ako nag-book ng date. I want our night to be special, Millia."

Here she goes again. She can't help but to think that Ky is only doing all of this just to thank her at di naiwasan ni Millia na sabihin yun kay Ky.

"Well, you don't need to set a thank you date for us. Just a simple way of thank you is appreciated, Ky."

"No. That will be not a "thank you" date, Millia. Gusto kitang makilala pa."

She leaned against the wall and she put her hand over her chest. She couldn't breathe for what she have heard.

"Ky?"

"Yes, Millia?"

"I... I think, I need to go to sleep. You should have too."

Medyo disappointed naman ang binata ng marinig yun.

"Ganun ba? You're maybe tired? Gusto pa sana kita makausap but I'll see you tomorrow, Millia."

She smiled. He smiled.

"Yes Ky. I'll... wait for you. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

Ky is now waiting for Millia to disconnect the call.

"Millia? You can now hang up."

"Uh..  no! You can, Ky."

Ky chuckled.

"No, ikaw na."

"What if we can both hang up the phone?"

They both laugh.

"Goodness, this is ridiculous!"

Ky started the count down.

"I'll count, one, two, three!"

Till Ky heard a dial tone on the other line. He smiled at di pa nakuntento, tinext pa si Millia.

Sleep tight, Millia.

She smiled when she received his text. She can't help it but her feelings for him is too real, pero di niya pa din maiwasang ma-disappoint kapag naiisip nyang utang na loob lang ni Ky ang lahat sa kanya.
