Her Restless Heart

It was a month ago. Matapos mabalitaan ni Millia ang nangyari sa kumpanya ni Ky, ang Knead Bread.

She was so silent from that day and till now, she's looking at that newspaper issued last month.

Bakit parang ako pa ata ang namomroblema sa nangyari sa kumpanya nya?

She heard a knock on her door.

"Come in."

Sinalubong sya ng ngiti ng sekretarya nito.

"What's with that smile?"

"Ma'am! Yung committee po nag-set ng party ngayon. For celebration party na number one ang Bread Box!"

Nawala ang ngiti ng babae ng makitang nakatingin lang si Millia sa kanya.

"A party? Bakit wala akong alam tungkol dun? They should've tell me about it bago sila mag-set. Am I right?"

Napakamot sa ulo ang babae. She don't know how to respond.

"Uh.. ma'am yun po.."

She rose from her seat at saka bumuntong hininga.

"I guess, I can't do something about it."

After a long tiring day, maririnig sa lahat ng empleyado ng Bread Box ang kasiyahan. They are all happy with what the company has accomplished.

"Sobrang galing talaga ni Ms. Rage 'no?"

"Tama ka dyan! Kaya nga laging top spot sa bakery board!"

"Eh.. ano kayang nangyari dun sa competitor ng Bread Box?"

"Ahh.. yun ba? Balita ko magsasara na daw."

Sakto at palakad ng hall way si Millia. Narinig niya ang paguusap ng mga empleyado nya.

"Excuse me?"

Nagulat ang 3 to see their boss. Sabay-sabay silang bumati dito.

"Ms. Rage. Magandang gabi po."

"Salamat po sa pa-party!"

"Ang galing nyo po kasi mag-handle ng kumpanya kaya.. walang makakatalo. Di tulad ng sa Knead Bread."

Sabay tawa ng 3. Nawala ang ngiti sa mga labi ni Millia. Deep inside, she was hurt to hear that.

"Well, don't get me wrong. Di naman natin dapat i-compare ang accomplishments natin sa kanila. And, honestly, I'm not happy with what happened to them."

Sabay alis. Naiwang nagtataka ang 3. Asking themselves why Millia acted that way.

"Ano daw? Di ba dapat masaya si Ms. Rage kasi leading competitor natin yung Knead Bread?"

8pm. The celebration party is now starting.
Si Millia di mapakali. She's checking different website with regards sa nangyayari sa kumpanya ni Ky. Napahawak sa noo si Millia ng makita at ma-confirm na ibinibenta na ni Ky ang kumpanya nya that existed for more than 30 years.

Goodness! Anong nangyayari sa lalaking 'to? Why does he ended up with that decision?

Bumuntong hininga ang dalaga. Till she heard the emcee calling her name.

"So, ladies and gentlemen, let's call in our CEO and now the owner of Bread Box, Ms. Millia Rage!"

Kasabay nun ang masigabong palakpakan. She's now at the center stage.

"How's everyone? Well, this is the night that we're gonna celebrate our top spot sa Bakery Industry. Congratulations to us, Let's cheers!"

Sabay nun ang pag toast ng wines. She quickly return to her seat. Kinuha agad nya ang phone nya and stalked his instagram.

Nagdadalawang isip sya kung kokontakin nya ito thru direct message sa instagram.

God, Millia? What are you thinking?! You're gonna reach to him para ano?! Makibalita? I'm sure that's not right!

Bumuntong hininga ang dalaga. She looked at her phone again. Talagang naglalaro sa isip nya na kausapin si Ky.

Well, mangungumusta lang naman. What's wrong with that!?

Kinuha na nya ang phone nya. She tapped the app and she's now composing a message.

Now, call me desperate for you. Pero eto lang naiisip kong gawin.

Ky's all alone in his room. Drinking wine and he felt he was beaten. He closed his laptop and about to go to sleep. Till narining nyang nag-notify ang instagram nya.

Message from Millia? Ano 'to?

He decided to open it. He was hesistant at first. Pero still, he reads it.

Hi, Mr. Kiske. How are you? I feel sorry for what happened to you and of course, sa kumpanya mo. To tell you, I'm not happy with that kasi di ako after competition. Well, if you want help, you can reach me anytime.

Nanlaki ng sobra ang mga mata ng binata. He did not expected it from Millia.

Woah! My leading competitor is now offering help? Nakaka-gulat.

Hindi mapakali si Millia. There's a lot of things running on her head. That got her attention. Nagring ang phone nya. Surprised to see that Ky responded.

Oh, hi Ms. Rage. Did not expect you would tell me that. Thank you. I really appreciate it. But my decision is now final. Salamat sa concern.

Napalunok ang babae. She took advantage of it. Para makausap si Ky.

I see. If you wanted someone to talk to, I can be your friend.

Alangan si Ky. Naiisip nyang strategy lang yun ng babae. But here it is. Di nya inaasahan ang isasagot nya dito.
