Convention Connection

" Yeah.. I'm on my way now. Thank you."
Millia's on her way now papunta ng convention.

It was around 6pm. A bakers convention is on going. Invited lahat ng big and small baking companies.
After 30 minutes, she was there. Pagpasok nya sa loob, she quickly grabbed a glass of wine.

"Oh, hi Millia! I never thought that I will see you here!"

"Hi, I did not expect you too."

Sabay beso sa kakilala.

"How's your company?"

She's not in the mood makipag-usap but that old woman caught her off guard.

"Well, the Bread Box is doing great. Under my supervision, of course." Sabay sip ng wine.

Habang busy makipag-daldalan ang matanda sa kanya, she did not expected to see him around. Napatulala sya and she couldn't explain how she would feel. Hanggang sa napansin ng matanda na wala na sakanya ang atensyon ng dalaga.

"Ms. Rage? Are you still with me?"

That broke her revere. She smiled.

"Yeah, uhm.. but I think I need to go to the restroom. Excuse me."

She made her way out. Papalapit na sya sa binata.

"Mr. Kiske."

He quickly turned his head around. His eyes widened.

"Oh hi, Ms. Rage. It is so nice to see you here."

Di expected ni Ky ang inasta ng dalaga.

Is this for real? She's my leading competitor yet, binabati nya ko ng ganito? Is this her strategy?

"How are you? I.. I did not expect you here?"

She gave him a confident smile.

"Of course. Bread Box will not gonna miss this chance. I'm the one whose surprised by you, honestly."

Tumawa ang binata and sipped a liitle bit of his wine.

"I know. Knead Bread is also here for the chance as well."

Sandaling natahimik ang dalawa. And Ky was surprised to see Millia's looking at him.

"You know what, I'm not here to compete. I just.. wanted to be friends with you, Mr. Kiske."

Talagang ikinagulat ni Ky ang mga narinig galing kay Millia. Till he realized that her hand is ready for a shake hands.
He smiled and offer his hand for a shake.

"I know. So do I, Ms. Rage."

The conversation lasted till the end of the convention.

Millia catch her breath, as if she never wanted this evening to end.

"Well, I enjoy this with you, Ms. Rage."

Napangiti ang dalaga na mas lalong nagpaganda sa mukha nito.

"If you did, paano pa ko, Mr. Kiske?"

They both chuckled. And suddenly Ky stopped when he saw her looking at him like a book. He held back to ask why she's looking at him that way. Till he heard her saying

"I hope for the best of our respective companies, Ky. Let me just remind you that this is not my strategy. Befriending you is.. natural, 'di ba?"

Nabigla ang binata.

Whoaa! She knew what I was thinking about earlier.

"Ye..yeah! I.. I'm not suspicious about you, Millia. Thank you."

"No, thank you."

She's in her car and she winked goodbye.

"You take care, Mr. Kiske."

"You too, Ms. Rage. Looking forward to see you again."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ng dalaga. Pero para di halata, she smiled and drive her car. Ky was waving his hand goodbye.

He sighs and get inside his car.

"Well, this will be the end of the night."
