Chapter One

A/N: This is chapter one.. don't hate...

*Present Day (22.08.14) -Darci's POV-*

"Happy birthday Darce!!" my best friend Imogen yelled to me through the phone, "What did you get? Anything good?!" she continued.

"Dude, it's like 6am! I haven't gotten anything yet! And just so you know we're not sharing anything I do get!" I replied.

"But..." she trailed off. Before we could argue any further my grandma yelled "Darci Marie Jenkins, I do not care if it's your seventeenth birthday or your seven- hundredth! Some of us are trying to sleep! Hang up the phone and go talk to Imogen in person! NOW!" I did as I was told and hung up.

I slipped out of my Elmo pajamas and threw on the first thing I saw, which was my Whinnie the Pooh pullover and my light wash denim booty shorts. I pulled on my socks and blue and yellow Vans, grabbed my phone and raced out the door. As soon as I walked through Imogen's front door I was bombarded by 4 Jones' and 1 O'Conner who were singing 'Happy birthday'. I just laughed and said thanks.

Jeremy, Imogen's oldest brother (who was actually quite hot), was the first one to give me a gift. He got me an anklet that had the word 'Forever' on it in beads and a charm bracelet. Ohmigod, swoon! Next was Imogen who got me a cute beanie and candles, her card made me suspicious though. Does she know something I don't? She is probably taking me shopping with my crush. Imogen is the best friend ever, love my babe Immy! Ah, Blake, the most appetizing piece of man-candy our school has to offer. Ew! What is wrong with me? I sound like Alysa... No! Alysa is the most popular girl at our school, probably the prettiest and definitely the meanest and bitchiest. Anyway, Christopher was the next one to give me a present, he got me a card and $30 dollars, from a 9 year old that's a pretty good present. Imogen's little sister Jasmine was next and she got me a make-up kit. And last but not least was Luke, Imogen's little brother, who got me a necklace with a snowflake on it. Aw, cute!

After I received my gifts from everyone one we went out to breakfast at Macca's, fancy I know! I had pancakes and they were really good.

After breakfast, Imogen took me away from the group and said "Meet me at mine at 11pm sharp..." she said it almost secretively? Nah! So, the rest of the day was pretty boring as all I did was eat and open presents.

Finally, 11pm came around and I was preparing to sneak out o fmy room, when my grandma walked in and said "Be careful" and walked out. Ok, what? I pushed that thought aside and quickly snuck out of my window. Once I was out I ran to the back door of Imogen's house. She was already waiting there for me. She ushered me in and up to her room then she began " Listen, I have to tell you something... something big..." I thought for a minute then replied. "How big? Are you leaving?" I panicked a bit. "No silly! No-one's leaving... more like someone's coming here... soon..."
