Agony woke up to water hitting her face and when she opened her eyes she saw it was raining. Agony moved under a tree with more cover, rain still landed on her but with the leaves, there wasn't as much water hitting her compared to sitting out in the open. Agony stayed in the woods until she felt the cold latching onto her bones. Agony put on her helmet before struggling to stand up, her legs sore from yesterday's long run. Agony slowly made her way back to the base, staring at the sky for most of the walk back.

When Agony got back to the base it was still raining, not many people were out, and those that were out ignored and avoided her. Agony didn't want to go back to her ship, so she wandered around the base giving herself a somewhat proper tour. Agony found the barracks, the gym, and the shooting range. Even though her muscles ached Agony decided to peek into the gym. In the end, the gym was not an option, too many people were inside to avoid working out in the rain. Agony decided to go down to the shooting range. Surprisingly no one was there. Agony placed her hand on the small of her back only to remember all her guns are back with Tenebris. Agony let out a sigh before remembering she had her knives on her. Agony lined up in front of a target, starting close at first, and gradually moving it back.

Maybe I should go back to the tower?  There's no war... No, they'll burn me alive. They must be furious that I just up and left. I can't stay here. I'm not human, they won't accept me. How long until they find out I'm not human? Maybe I can keep running?  Maybe- Agony's thoughts were interrupted by Evo's voice.

"Never took you to be a knife thrower"

Agony looked over her shoulder at him, then brought the target back so she could grab her knives and repeat the process.

"Are you okay?" Evo asked, the concern evident in his voice

"It's none of your concern" Agony replied bluntly, throwing her knife into her target.

"That's what you think. We're fighting a war too, and we're looking forward to the end of if. You've reached the end of yours. How did you end up like this?"

Agony sighed and turned to face Evo, he was a lot closer than she expected and she didn't enjoy the invasion of her personal space but there was nowhere for her to go.

"I'm a soldier, my entire life that's what I've been. Nothing else. I fell in love, I was betrayed I thought I left my heart behind. Then I found a family, and then they started to die. I ended the war to avenge the people I love and lost, but... now I don't know what to do with myself. All I knew all I know was how to be that one thing a soldier... with nothing to distract me from my own thoughts I thought running was the solution."

The two stood in silence for a while. Agony felt that Evo was judging her, thinking she was weak. Agony didn't know how wrong she actually was. Evo pulled Agony into an embrace. Agony was surprised at how warm Evo was, he wasn't like the Exo's back home. As Agony returned the embrace, her mind started to wander to Cayde and Roach, but that train of thought came to a sudden halt.
