~10 Years Previous~
{No POV}
It was a terribly sad day for a young six year old Marinette and her family as they watched solemnly two coffins being lowered to the ground.
It was also a sad day for their neighbors and best friends the Harrisons.
The Dupain-Chengs cried silently as their oldest child, their teenage daughter Marianne E. Dupain-Cheng's picture was lowered into the ground in the place of her actual missing body. The woman and child comprising wgat was left of the Harrison family doing the same as a picture of the woman's oldest son Jason L. Harrison was being lowered in a coffin.
After several hours of crying the funerals came to an end and the woman and boy said their goodbyes before heading to the airport to head back to London.
And like this, the Dupain-Chengs slowly moved forward never forgetting the girl they had lost and making sure to protect their youngest.
While at the graveyard two cloaked and hooded figures stood infront of the newly placed gravestones.
"Well... This is it.." Commented one of the figures in a natural young male voice.
"Yes... It is. At least, for now. You know what we must do now Mangy Tiger." A young female voice responded that belonged to the other figure.
The male sighed.
"I know, doesn't make this any easier."
"I know." Said the female only the slightest bit amused by his half hearted tone.
"Are you sure it's okay we didn't tell Nora or Kyle about this?" The male asked.
"It's for the best they don't know the truth. It could put them at risk." Said the girl sadly as rain began to downpour on Paris clouding the skies as they observed a funeral happening not too far away.
'She's gone for now, but he will some day find a way to bring her back. When that time comes...' Thought the female to herself.
The male placed a calming hand on her shoulder calming her just as an elderly man with a hawaiian shirt on approached the two silently.
"So you have set your minds to this..." The elder man spoke.
The two sighed but nodded.
"It's for the best Master. Goodbye Longg." The female said taking off a choker she had around her neck a little red creature smiling and bowing at her before vanishing into the choker.
"She's right Master. Bye Roarr." Said the male a little creature smiling while crying soon vanishing into a Panjas Bracelet that the male took off.
The two sighed and smiled at the jewelry before handing them to the elderly man who had taken out two boxes and placed them inside.
"They will be waiting for you to return to them some day." The elderly man said once he had put the boxes in his bag only to notice they were long gone.
The man smiled sadly before heading back to his home.
~Present Day~
Marinette looked at her calendar and already knew it was going to be a difficult day for her.
She turned for a moment to a photo frame she kept on her nightstand and looked at the picture closely.
In the picture were herself as a little girl, her parents looking younger, and another girl older than her that she would never see again.
Her older sister Marianne Emma Dupain-Cheng.
She sighed and kissed the picture before placing it back on her nightstand carefully before preparing for the day and rushing through breakfast as usual and heading to school.
When she arrived at school that day everyone sans Chloe, Adrien, Lila, and Kagami noted what day it was and gave Marinette and Alya space.
Then Chloe surprised everyone and handed Marinette a card.
'Sorry for your loss, even if I am late to say it or whatever. I honestly don't care but I remembered she helped me out once or twice when we were kids.' Marinette read silently.
"Thank you Chloe." Marinette said quietly and calmly.
Then everything went back to as it had been for everyone except Adrien and the newer girls who were confused.
"Um, Nino, what's up with Marinette and everyone today?"
Nino sighed sadly.
"It's just not a very good day for Marinette dude, don't worry, she'll be all good by tomorrow. She just needs Alya and plenty of space." Ninoa answered awkwardly after some hesitation.
"Oh... Um.. Okay..." Said Adrien still concerned but relenting.
Suddenly screams rang out.
"AHHHHHHH!!!!!"
"AN AKUMA!"
