Morro woke up to his last of twenty-three alarms, groaning as he turned off his beeping phone.
"Hey sleepy-head. My mom made breakfast, get dressed." Lloyd said. He left the boy alone, closing the bedroom door.
It had been about four months since Lloyd and Morro had started dating, Lloyd's parents being completely accepting of their son and his boyfriend.
Morro had moved in with Lloyd after a month or so, seeing as he didn't have his own place, being an orphan. He had his own room, but he usually slept in Lloyd's.
He got up and wandered to his closet, picking out a purple, long-sleeved shirt and a black jacket to go over it. He changed from sweatpants to ripped, black jeans, and brushed his hair lazily, his vibrant green streak showing clearly.
He never knew where he got it from, he just assumed he was born with it since it never faded like dye would, and it grew green in that area naturally.
The seventeen year old genderfluid person made his way downstairs and to the kitchen, where Misako was serving Lloyd some pancakes.
"Goodmorning, Morro. Help yourself, I have to be at the museum in half an hour." She said, grabbing her keys and leaving.
"Garmadon's already at school?" Morro asked Lloyd, grabbing two pancakes with his fork.
"Yeah, he left early to finish grading some papers. He wasn't expecting so many kids to get his essay done so quickly." He laughed. Garmadon, Lloyd's father, taught English at the two's highschool. So did Lloyd's uncle, Wu. He taught History.
Morro glanced at the clock, "The bus should be here soon. It's only been a month and I'm already done with Sophomore year." He sighed.
Lloyd rolled his eyes, pecking him on cheek, "It's not that bad, maybe we'll make friends this year." The two had been friends since middle school, and started dating over the summer. They had never really had any friends besides eachother.
Morro scoffed, "Sure, because we've had such good luck with that before." They heard the bus make it's way towards their street.
"Shit, let's go." Lloyd said, grabbing his dark green backpack, handing Morro's own dark purple one to him. They ran out the door, making it to the bus stop with about a minute to spare.
In all previous years, they had been the only ones to get on and off at their bus stop. Except now.
There were two people standing there, talking. A boy taller than Lloyd but shorter than Morro, and a girl shorter than the boy, but still taller than Lloyd.
The boy glanced up at them as they came to a stop, "Hey. I'm Kai." He said, smirking.
"Uh... Hi, I'm Lloyd." He said awkwardly. He wasn't used to people talking to him out of the blue.
"Nice to meet you. This is my sister, Nya. We're new at Jamanakai." He said. Jamanakai Highschool. The most unnessicsarily long name in Lloyd's opinion.
"Who are you?" Nya asked Morro bluntly.
"Morro, Lloyd's boyfriend." He said. He knew Lloyd wouldn't mind him giving these people that information, they'd both rather not deal with drama over people being confused about them. The two of them had dealt with enough of that in middle school.
"Cool." Kai said. The conversation ended as the bus pulled up, and the four got on. It was loud and crowded. There were a few unfamiliar faces, apparently there were a lot of new students this year, all transfers from another highschool in Ninjago City, called Chen's.
Lloyd and Morro took their usual seat in the very back and talked, sharing a few kisses here and there.
After a while, the two boys in the seat in front of them turned around and peeked over the seat.
    "Hi!" One said, startling them.
    "Jeez, kid." Morro muttered.
"Sorry! I'm Jay, Jay Walker!" The kid said, very loudly.
Morro snorted, "Seriously? That's your name?" He said, grinning despite himself.
Jay pouted, "Yes, and I'll have you know I have never jay walked!" He said. The boy next to him laughed.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Cole. Uh, Cole... well, let's just say that's complicated." He said.
Jay smiled, "He has two last names, one his father gave him and one his mother did, but legallt he has no last name." He explained.
"How does that even work?" Lloyd mumbled. Jay didn't hear him.
"So who are you? Me and Cole are new, and a bunch of our friends!" Jay asked.
"Yeah, there's like a ton of new kids this year. I'm Lloyd, this is Morro. We met some other new kids at the bus stop, Kai and Nya." Lloyd said.
"You've met Kai? He's annoying, but cool. I'm dating his sister." Jay said proudly.
    "Don't forget me." Cole joked.
"And him. I'm dating both of them!" Jay grinned. He did that a lot, it was starting to bother the two antisocial teens.
The bus stopped at the school entrance, and everyone filed out. Lloyd and Morro held hands so as not to get caught up in the crowd, but also because they felt like it.
"Where to?" Morro asked. There was about twenty minutes until class actually started, so the students were just raoming around, doing their own thing.
"We could go see my dad or Wu." Lloyd suggested. Morro shrugged and off they went.
On the way to Wu's classroom, the two bumped into two girls who were running very fast.
"Hey! Watch it, will you?" Morro said, stumbling back a bit. The girls stopped and the taller one apologized.
"Ah, sorry. We were having a race, track girl versus android." She said.
They paused, "Uh, android?" Lloyd asked.
"Oh, right! So I'm Skylor, and this is Pixel. She's a robot, technecally. She was built in Ninjago city by Cyrus Borg. He made the second ever android to have human emotions and morals." Skylor explained.
"Okay... wait, them who was the first?" Lloyd asked.
"Dr. Julien. You've probably never heard of him, though, he lives alone in a forest, and it snows year round. It's crazy cold there. He built our friend Zane." As she finished her sentence, a boy as tall as Morro strolled over and greeted the girls. Pixel, the girl robot, kissed him.
"Forgot to mention they're together." Skylor laughed.
"Who are these two boys?" Zane asked Skylor, in an almost robotic voice, but with a tint of human empathy. It was weird.
"I'm genderfluid, but close enough." Morro joked, straight-faced. That was one of his many talents.
"My apologies. I'm Zane Julien, good to meet you."
"Lloyd, and this is Morro." He introduced breifly.
    "Lloyd? Lloyd Garmadon?" Zane asked.
    "Uh... yeah..."
"I have a copy of the school's website in my database, I am aware that your father and uncle teach here?" He said, almost like a question.
"Oh, yeah. Um, we were actually heading to Wu's classroom now, so bye..." Lloyd said. He took Morro's hand again and the two left quickly, already done with social interaction.
Why did these Chen's kids have to be so outgoing?
