Black Tourism

"Black Tourist?" My friend exclaimed, "Are you a racist?" she continued. "Hey, hold your horses" I stopped her. " Im not talking about the race, you're the one whose a racist here". She frowned at me. "Im talking about Dark or Black tourism". "Never heard of it?" she shrugs. "Will you let me finish?, I'm about to explain it to you, but you never stop talking" "Okay, fine-fine" she raised her hands as a sign of defeat. "Good, so Black tourism also called Dark tourism or grief tourism has been defined as tourism involving travel to places historically associated with death and tragedy." I explained to her. "So you're telling me that we should try this Dark tourism, right?" she asked hesitantly. "Well, yes. I mean we both love Japan right?" I asked her. "Uh-huh" she nodded. "Hmm it turned out there are more about Japan than Aokigahara Forest?" I smiled to her. "I love japan, That's true and we've been best friends since Grade school, and you know I love you so much as my beloved best friend, but if you're going to bring me to some spooky place, I won't come" She said while half scared with the idea of Dark Tourism. "Hahaha" I laughed hard and she just frowned at me. "No, I'm bringing to a park at the heart of Tokyo?" I smiled to her. "Park? in Tokyo?" she asked. "Yes" then I showed her the photos of the park. "You sure, this is just a park?" she asked. "Yes" I smiled. Are you curious about the Park? I know you are. Well the Park is indeed located in Tokyo. The park's name is Toyama Park. It's just 20 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station. By day, you can easily stroll and see familiar scene in a park, like people, family walking by, children playing and such, but by night locals and bold visitors have reported a number of eerie experiences, including hearing a disembodied voice crying from a top the park’s small hill, Hakone Yama. The Park was once the former Army Medical College and Hospital but rumour says that it was not just build to assist the wounded during the World War II and it was also rumored to be the training center for the Imperial Army’s Unit 731. Unit 731 conducted biological and chemical warfare research and was responsible for horrible war crimes, they conducted experiment recipes for anthrax and bubonic plague, and was tested to Chinese prisoners of war, some says that other victims were also Russian, European and Mongolian. They would infect prisoners, then dissects the infected prisoners to see first-hand the bodily effects of their concoctions. It was also reported that many victims had organs removed and limbs amputated without anesthesia, then bodies were later transported to Tokyo to be analyzed. Once they are done with analyzing it, the bodies of the prisoners were dumped in a mass grave where the park now sits. I heard about it from My Mom, since she's been to Japan many times, and she said it was a peaceful and quiet park. Well I must say that this park is indeed peaceful and quiet by day, though Im not sure if this is peaceful and quiet by night too, with all those lives that had suffered but One thing is for sure we should pray for their souls to finally rest in peace.
