"A war is coming, thats for sure. The question is whether or not she will have enough time to gather an army to stand behind her when she will have to face it. And depending on the answer to that question is the fate of the world."

Alex's p.o.v
Its been 10 years since my parents were murdered.
10 years since my house was burnt down.
10 years since I found out that I was part of an ancient prophecy.
And 10 years since I started training to fulfil my destiny.
After my Aunt took me to her house, she let me mourn for a week before she sat me down and explained to me what happened and why my parents were murdered.
You see, my parents were protecting me from the king's men who were ordered to kill me. There is a prophecy that claims that I shall be born with the power over the four elements and that I will be the only person who has enough power to stop the corrupt king and save the Gifted, the few people who were born with a power.
Normally gifted have only one power, two is extremely rare and over three was not possible. Until me. And the fact that my abilities are elemental powers, it makes me even more rare and powerful as and elemental is stronger than most of the other powers and it also branches off into similar powers linked to their element. For example, a water elemental can control Ice and a fire elemental can control lightning.
The prophecy also states that despite being born with the four elements, I will gain three additional powers. Two on my 18th birthday and my final power on my 21st birthday. And if you didn't already know, I'm 17, turning 18 in 3 months.
"ALEEXX!!!!, IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW, I'M GOING TO KICK IT TO MARS" Shit. She sounds angry.
I run down the stairs and into the kitchen where my angry aunt is now staring me down. Shit, that's not good. "Training started 20 minutes ago!!!" Double shit, that's definitely not good. "Sorry, I got a little distracted" I replied, hoping she would let me off the hook. But alas, it was nothing but false hope. "Well I hope the distraction is worth an extra three hours of training, because that is your punishment." NOOOOOOO, training sucks. Every day I have 6 hours of training before I do 2 hours of study and then I get free time. Now I have to complete 9 hours of training.
My Aunt and Uncle split the training into three different sections: Abilities, Hand to hand combat/martial arts and weapons. I open my mouth to object but the look of fury on my aunts' face has me snapping it shut faster than a dog chasing the mail man around the front yard.
I just nod my head and head out to the back yard where my uncle was waiting for me so that we could begin training. Honestly, despite the training being hard and a pain in the ass, I am grateful for it as I have been able to master my elements and learn how to fight with grace and strength. I also now know how to use various different types of weapons, which could come in handy in the future war.
That's right, war. The prophecy also states that there is to be a war. Me leading on army while the king leading the other. Only problem is that I don't know where to get an army. I mean, its not like you can just order one online and have it shipped to you the next day. No, I have to gather the army and then lead them into battle.
"Hey Uncle, how is my favourite uncle's day going?" I ask, hoping he will side with me against aunt Alissa. But once again, it proved to be nothing but false hope. "I'm your only uncle and it's your own fault you got an extra three hours of training, now get started so we can finish as soon as possible, Alissa is making lasagna tonight" He says, getting a dreamy look in his eyes just thinking about my aunt's famous lasagna.
9 hours later of sweat blood and grime, I finally finished and my uncle told me to go take a shower because apparently, I stink. After showering, I did some studying with my aunt for 3 hours, as I am home schooled, before eating dinner at 7.
We finished up at 7:30 and while I was washing the dishes, my aunt and uncle went to look for a movie for us all to watch. When I finished, I walked into the lounge room, expecting to see my aunt cuddled up to my Uncle with the movie they chose on pause. Instead, Alissa and Daniel were sitting across from a strange woman, their bodies tense and rigid while the stranger remained calm and collected, her body relaxed, not seeming to be the least bit worried. That is, until her eyes met mine.
