Holy mother of god, he did not just say Asgard... I gawked at how big it was in person, following my "father" throughout the hallway. At least, I think it's a hallway. He kept on rambling random things that I didn't care about while showing me some weird things. Like— Is that a horse with 8 legs?!I glanced back at my dad, making sure his attention wasn't on me. A grin tugged at my lips as I lifted my dress up and ran towards the stables, enjoying the sun hitting my face. The horse seemed to be enjoying its bearings, but stiffened up at the sight of me. I slowly approached it, sitting down and lowering my hands to show him I was a friend. It eyed me for a few seconds before walking towards me and nuzzling its nose against my cheek. A giggle escaped me.
The horse was obviously unnatural, yet beautiful. I instantly fell in love with it while running my hands through his hair.
"And who, may I ask, are you?" A silky voice said, catching my attention. I quickly turned my head to face the person, lowering my hands onto my skirt. Once my eyes locked with those sharp emerald ones, I turned pale. Loki. Of all people I could have met, it had to be the manipulatively intelligent one. He didn't exactly look how I thought he would though. His black hair looked soft to the touch and reached his neck while his skin was an ivory color. Not particularly pale.
"Well?" He asked, arching an elegant eyebrow. Damn he's hot. I snapped out of my thoughts when the horse shoved its muzzle into my back, as if trying to push me forward. Jeez, I can take a hint. I huffed, glancing back at the horse and standing up, fixing my dress. Loki smirked at the little devil behind me.
"My name is Aliya, Your highness." I said mockingly, bowing down and rolling my eyes at him. As if i'm scared of this crazy bitch... A low chuckle made me knit my eyebrows up in worry. Uh... What?
"You wouldn't happen to be Princess Aliya, would you?"
I straightened up, looking at his amused expression. A frown tugged at my lips at his mocking voice. Are we really playing that game?
"And what if I am?" I said, tilting my head up in defiance.
"Well then, I must say you are late for the feast." Loki said, walking towards me. I blinked, then grimaced. I just got here and i'm already messing things up... He stopped right in front of me, giving me a calculated look. I made sure to keep my eyes on his emerald ones, crossing my arms. Minutes seemed to pass before a hand was offered to me.
I narrowed my eyes at him, but all I got was a shrug and amused smirk. Well... It's not like he can kill me, right? With a small sigh, I placed my hand on his, making sure to give him an unamused look. He grasped my hand gently, leading me back to the castle and probably taking me to where the feast is taking place.
"I must ask... Why go to the stables, Princess? I have not met much female royalties who would kneel down as to not frighten a horse. Much less with a beautiful dress such as yours." I peered up at him from under my eyelashes, analyzing his words and expression.
"Is it such a bad thing for me to love simple things and not care whether I am a princess or a peasant?" I had to choose my words carefully with Loki, but it seems like I did good since a real smile graced his lips. Although, he had a faraway look in his eyes.
"It's... Refreshing to meet someone like you, Aliya. Especially on a day like today."
"What is today?..." I asked as we stopped right in front of the huge doors filled with red patterns and noise. Loki turned around, facing me. He had a familiar expression that I couldn't quite place, but it gave me a bad feeling...
"Today is the day my brother is crowned king of Asgard." My eyes widened in shock, filling with worry right after. I noticed Loki was trying to read my expression and quickly closed off, smiling nervously.
"Is that not a good thing?" Loki's eyes narrowed in suspicion, glancing back at the tall doors.
"My brother isn't exactly ready to be king. He can be... very brash."
"And so? Is he not your brother? If he truly is not ready, you can just help him, My prince..." Loki's eyes flashed in anger while he clenched his hands into fists in frustration.
"I fear it is too late for that... Not to worry though, I'm sure father knows what he's doing." He said with a plastic smile, making me want to run and tell Odin everything that was going to happen. I looked down sadly, nodding my head. He tilted my head up, knitting his eyebrows together.
"Is something the matter?"
"...I realize we have just met, but I worry for you. Very much so." He seemed shocked by my words and frowned. As if he couldn't believe someone cared about him.
"You truly are something different. I wish I could have gotten to know you better, Aliya."
"We still have time, no?..."
Loki smiled, moving his hand to my lower back and opening the doors with a spark of magic. A row of tables filled with food was revealed, along with millions of Asgardians. It was... nerve racking. He lead me towards the table with my father and a few people that I have only seen in the movie. I was anxious, but Loki's hand was comforting in a way.
"Aliya! Where in the nine realms have you been? I have been searching everywhere for you!" My father shouted in worry, standing up and moving towards me, pulling me into a tight hug. I stood there awkwardly, smiling reassuringly.
"I'm fine, father."
"I thank you, Prince Loki, for bringing my daughter to me." He said, moving me beside him and bowing down. Bitch, you're a king; Why the hell are you bowing to a prince? Loki gave a princely smile, ignoring my eye roll.
"It is my pleasure—"
"BROTHER!" The smile instantly left his face at that boastful voice. I raised an eyebrow at the muscled blonde hugging Loki tighter than one should ever be hugged, covering my mouth to hide the little giggles escaping me. Loki glared at me while I just smirked. He gave me a pleading look, making me huff in amusement.
I walked over to them, placing a hand on Thor's shoulder, catching his attention.
"Your highness, do you mind if I borrow Loki from you?" The second Thor's eyes landed on me, they widened, looking me up and down. Loki's eyes narrowed warningly, but Thor ignored him, grabbing my hand and kissing the back of it, making me cringe badly.
"You must be Princess Aliya! I have heard of your beauty throughout the nine realms." He said, winking. Is this guy serious?... I was so close to slapping him, but some fat dude interrupted me.
"Thor, the ceremony's about to start! You must get going!"
"Ah, of course! I hope to see you again, Princess Aliya." He kissed my hand once more before following the fat dude somewhere. Loki sighed, fixing his clothing. He looked me in the eyes, holding his hands behind his back.
"You've met my brother now... Still think he's ready to be king?"
"Loki..."
"We must go to the ceremony hall before the doors close." I stared back at his walking figure, frowning. Things were going to get worse before they got better, huh? I really hope this is all just a dream...
