"That's nice and all," said Loki. "But you can't completely remove a being's magic. It'd kill them, so I know I still have some of my power."
He stood up, which really wasn't very impressive as he still came to a few inches below Irpa's shoulder. She was still a little wary around Loki, from what he had almost done the night before, but couldn't resist a smile at Loki's height. She hadn't really noticed it last night.
"We can still go back?" Thor asked, still a little hung up on the realization.
"Yes, Thor, you can get back to Asgard," Irpa said. Thor beamed at being directly addressed by her. Loki huffed.
Landon glanced around. "Is that our pancake mix?" He asked, pointing to the box on the counter.
"Yes, it is," Loki said. "Now stop changing the subject."
"You stole our pancakes?" Landon looked at Loki like that was the equivalent of killing someone.
Loki grinned. "And milk and that orange stuff, it's good by the way, but I think that's it."
Irpa and Thor started laughing, which seemed just a little insane given the circumstances.
"Just in case somebody cares, I'm still injured," London's voice cracked through the laughter. Silence fell again and Loki turned to Thor.
"Go look in the cupboards in the bathroom, there should be some first aid stuff." Thor headed off and came back a few seconds later with gauze and bandages. Loki wrapped her ankle as tightly as he could manage and looked up at London.
"Tell your parents you fell in a hole or something, but you're gonna have to get this taken care of at a hospital." London nodded, her teeth set, and Landon helped her up. They managed to get halfway across the room before London stumbled, and Landon couldn't catch her. Loki sighed and went to help.
When they got to the twin's house, London shooed her brother inside and looked at Loki.
"Thanks," she said, giving him a small smile. His lips tilted up as well before he seemed to remember something and all the happiness fell from his face.
"I'm sorry about yesterday night, I didn't mean to scare you." Loki looked slightly uncomfortable. "I don't usually explode at people like that."
"I'll admit it was kind of freaky at the time, but it was also kind of awesome," London said, watching Loki's smile come back. They stood a foot away from each other in awkward silence. Loki ran his hand through his black hair, causing it to be spikier than it already was.
"Well, I have to get back and deal with Irpa." Loki broke the silence, stepping back down the steps on the porch. "Remember, don't say anything about any of this." Then he took off running back to their house. While Loki was helping London and her brother, Thor and Irpa sat in awkward silence. Thor tried to spark some conversation once or twice, but he always lost the words right before they came out of his mouth. He stood up and walked over to the griddle, which had somehow been unplugged during the fight, and grabbed two of the pancakes. They were cold now but still tasted amazing.
"Want one?" He asked Irpa, holding one out. She took it, her fingers brushing against Thor's. He smiled, not able to help it as his heart did somersaults.
"I wasn't expecting these to actually taste good." She said, almost to herself. Thor suddenly noticed how messy his hair was and tried to pull out some of the tangles with his fingers. He ran his hand through it one last time, trying to smooth down the few pieces of hair that always stuck up and found Irpa watching him. He averted his eyes. "I've actually never seen someone with hair that color."
