Emilia woke up with an arm around her waist and her head on top of a buff chest. She was about to freak out, but then realized whoever it was was still sleeping.
She looked up and saw it was Tom, making her heart have a little happy panic attack. He looked like a different person when sleeping. No smirking, no serious and furrowed eyebrows, nothing. He looked at peace.
Emilia's anxiety levels were through the roof at how close they were. She was practically on top of him, and his arm around her waist wasn't going anywhere. This was certainly the closest she'd every been to a guy.
He must've been really tired because her sudden awakening didn't even seem to make him stir. Emilia turned her body and saw on the clock it was 9:07 AM. She turned back towards Tom and laid her head on his chest.
When she heard someone walking to her bedroom, she quickly pretended to be asleep. She wasn't going to open her eyes in fear of being caught snuggling up to the boy she met a week ago.
"They're still asleep," Celia's voice said.
"Shouldn't we get them up? Your waffles are gonna get cold," Harrison's voice questioned her. They sounded like they were at the doorway.
Celia sighed, "No, let them be. From what you said about Tom last night, I have a feeling they both need this."
"Alright, but just 30 more minutes. We have to be home by noon. We got some customers coming over around 1," Harrison agreed. The door shut and Emilia carefully opened her eyes.
What had Celia meant by that? What did Harrison say about Tom last night? The questions were running through Emilia's mind faster than she could process.
Tom seemed like nothing more or less, romantically, than a player. She could tell he was an extremely intelligent guy and knew business like the back of his hand. But Emilia, being the innocent and cautious girl she was, was scared.
She was scared that she was going to fall for him and he'd break her heart, or that he'd be too dangerous, or that he'd leave her. Or that knowing him in general would end up being some big mistake.
But, another great trait about Emilia was that she was very positive and a glass-half-full type of girl. So, for the next twenty minutes or so, she daydreamed on and off and just let herself think.
Her mind flowed like a calm river after a storm, especially in the comfort of Tom's strong arms. After it had been around twenty minutes, Tom began stirring. So, Emilia being a very jumpy girl, began stirring like she was just then waking up too.
"Morning Em," Tom said with a tiny smile.
"Hi. Sorry I...fell asleep on you," She said nervously. Tom made her nervous, and that was just a fact.
"I don't think you are," He said with a little smirk, pulling her closer to him to a point where over half her body was on top of his, "I think you enjoyed it."
There was an awkward moment of silence before she spoke up in almost a whisper, "Did you?"
"Well of course, love," He said in the same tone. He seemed to notice how gentle he was being and toughened up. "Is Haz still here?"
"Yeah," She said, but then remembered the only way she would've known that is if she had been up earlier, so she added, "I'm guessing."
"Cool. I'm gonna go get breakfast," He said and got up, walking out. It was only then Emilia had realized he had slept in his loose, plaid boxers.
As sad as it sounds, that was the probably the most action she had ever gotten. But then again, having a mob boss as a father had its strict limits.
Emilia got up slowly and cringed when she saw she had slept in everything from last night. She took off the joggers and changed into some soft black shorts and a big sweatshirt. Emilia hated rewearing clothes that she had slept in.
She washed her face and brushed her hair, putting it back into a ponytail. She wasn't big on breakfast, and she was actually very much a dinner person.
So, she went to the food stash she had in her little cabinet area and grabbed a bagel then went to her very small fridge and grabbed a Starbucks mocha latte (one of those ones you buy in glass bottles at Target or something).
She was sipping on it when Celia barged into her room, making her jump. Of course, Tom had inspired Emilia to have many more romance book ideas, so she was currently writing them in her journal.
"What the hell? You slept together?" Celia whisper yelled excitedly.
"Well, when you and Harrison decided to go conceive a child, Tom and I came in here to watch a movie. I fell asleep and so did he and we woke up laying next to one another," Emilia explained.
"You cuddled. Plain as day. Also, Haz and I didn't go the full nine yards. We just made out...a lot," She said and blushed in embarrassment.
"Are they still here?" Emilia whispered.
"What? Oh, yeah. They're out there eating waffles and chatting. Probably gonna be over for another two hours or so, Haz told me," Celia said and Emilia nodded.
"I know you don't like eating in the morning, but at least don't leave me out there alone with them," Celia asked kindly.
Emilia breathed in and got up, "Alrighty."
