Antidote Of Anger

13 1 1

Powerful red beast, dripping fire from her maw,

Explodes all around us.

Drenched in generations of dust,

Arms weary from swinging a saw,

There are antidotes all around us.

- - -

Slipping into unconsciousness,

Welcoming a newborn babe,

Collapsing in a heap of exhausted bones at the end of the day.

Plying one's trade as best as one can,

Crying one's eyes dry... so that no more tears can:

Flow.

- - -

Skin so red, it almost glows,

Fiery flame seen from the stars.

Way up in the heavens above

Way, way distant from the throes of love...

Thank you red beast of burden, you have taught me to live,

Seething sores and burning gut you give,

Dark nights alone, wondering for the future,

Masks to wear upon my sculpture.

- - -

Amen.
