We had been driving for hours before the scenery started to look familiar.

We were almost home.

That thought alone made me smile.

All the days I'd lay up in bed and wish to be gone, when now I wanted to go home more than anything.

I excitedly looked over to Alfio as we began pulling into the pebbled drive way.

I was still completely confused as to why we were here, we were being chased down and shot at, so wouldn't they come here looking for me.

As if reading my mind, Alfio broke the silence.

"It's safe, I have protection completely surrounding the house, even guarding in the woods." He said reassuring me.

I still didn't understand what was stopping them from coming here

I opened my door not waiting for him, taking a deep breath and breathing in the fresh air.

Me and Alfio both made our way up to the door, swinging the double oak doors open and quickly entering.

I immediately ran upstairs, opening the door to my bedroom, revealing my perfectly clean room.

I quickly walked over to my bed, practically throwing myself onto it, sniffing my freshly washed sheets.

I laid there for what felt like an eternity before I stood up, realizing I hadn't heard Alfio make his way up yet.

I walked out of my room and stood at the top of the stair case.

I was looking down at Alfio while he stood still in the door way looking up at me.

"I'm not staying." He said causing a look of confusion to occupy my face.

"Your leaving?" I questioned, completely confused as I slowly made my way down the stairs.

It wasn't unusual he was leaving, but we had just got here.

"I'll be gone for a while bambino." He said gently as I now stood directly in front of him, his tall frame hovering over mine.

"I have to take care of some things to ensure you'll be safe." He continued, not going all the way into detail.

I was satisfied with his answer, not wanting to know what he'd have to do to ensure my safety.

I only nodded my head.

He stared at me a few seconds longer before he dipped his head lower to mine, planting a gentle kiss on my lips.

"I'll call you tonight." He said, then turned around to leave, closing the door behind himself.

I peeked out the window noticing two of his men guarding the outside of the door.

I stood there watching as Alfio got back into the Escalade and pulled off.

I wanted him here, with me, I wanted HIM to protect me, not just a bunch of random men.

I turned around, noticing my suitcase sitting in the corner, I decided to take it upstairs, not seeing any need for anyone else to do it.

I dragged it upstairs, setting it in the corner of my room, shutting my door behind me.

I sat on my bed, not sitting for even a minute before someone knocked on my door.

The smile on my face grew big as Stella entered my room.

I hadn't realized she was here, I assumed she was gone somewhere, safe.
