Julia taps her feet repeatedly, a sign of her anxiousness. She is scared of what awaits her behind those huge oak double doors. Would they look at me weirdly? I didn't dress that bad, right? There are hundreds of questions popping out of Julia's mind. Samuel glances at his sister's apprehension and helplessly smiles.

"Jules, you don't need to feel so nervous. They'd be ecstatic to see you. If not, I'll beat them up."

Julia snickers at her brother's attempt to cheer her up. Samuel can't help but feel giddy seeing his sister smile because of him— that doesn't happen often.

As crazy as he appears, Samuel has a short fuse to top it off. A very short fuse. He gets angry over the craziest and trivial things and more so when he gets provoked. He knows that the people inside the meeting room already knows that they are outside, wanting to come in. And they certainly knew that Julia is present. Some important people who are part of the meeting do not know who Julia was but they could smell the Beta's scent on her. Often times, wolves are a little hostile to other wolves they have not encountered even if they belong to the same pack. That's how wolves work. Anyone who thinks or speaks ill of his little sister will spark his fuse and start a fire. Little does Julia know that he meant everything he said, especially the last part.

Julia inhales then exhales and turns to her brother, "Let's get this done."

Samuel nods and opens the doors, announcing their glorious arrival. Several heads turn to see the people who had come in. Silence fills the air and Julia refuses to raise her head and look at the people before her.

Goddammit, Julia! You're a Beta's daughter!  Julia internally scolds herself.

The sound of a chair screeching forces Julia to snap her head towards the direction it came from. Alpha Leblanc stands up with a huge smile on his face and stretches his arms wide open.

Julia immediately calms down and gives him a smile of her own, walks right in his arms and buries her face in his wide chest. They both miss each other. She considers Alpha Leblanc as her second father. All those times they spent together, not once did Alpha Leblanc made her feel unwelcomed. Julia is not the strongest of wolves. Her wolf is considerably weaker and smaller than most children with Beta blood. This gave Julia an extreme inferiority complex and was one of the reasons why she does not feel comfortable around other people. She felt really intimidated when she first encountered Alpha Leblanc. Like any other Alpha, Alpha Leblanc has a strong aura, enough for others to pay their respects to him. He is ruthless in the battlefield and he knows how to handle his pack very well. A good leader to everyone and he turned out to be the biggest teddy bear when it comes to his family and his family included Julia.

He treated Julia like another daughter he could not have. Stacey and Julia are so close you would mistake them as sisters due to their bond. Alpha Leblanc understood how crucial Julia's situation was and decided to make her feel loved as every wolf deserves. Weak or strong, a wolf is a wolf and they should all treat each other the way one wants to be treated. Leblanc had seen how Julia grew up to be one of the kindest people he knows and whoever her mate would be, he is lucky.

"I missed you, bud." Alpha Leblanc taps Julias back repeatedly.

"I missed you too, pops." Alpha Leblanc then laughs at the pet name and breaks free from the hug. He turns to the crowd and introduces Julia. Their faces morph to that of understanding and gradually, the mood inside the room lightens up as they continue to discuss what recently happened last night.

Julia awkwardly stands on the side as she listens to the grown-ups.

"It's not what I think it is, right?" A man with a gruff voice speaks.

"Shut it, Roger. There's no way." Another man with almost the same gruff voices retorts.

"Why do all grown-ups almost sound the same?" Raven muses and Julia chuckles in reply.

"You know there is a possibility!" Roger retorts with the same enthusiasm. The two continue their banter and Julia eventually drowns their voices out. Her attention shifts to Alpha Leblanc. His right hand is under his chin and he furrows his eyebrows, thinking.

"How many years has it been? It is possible." Alpha Leblanc thinks. He regains his composure and notices Roger and Adrian, fighting like 10 year-olds. He inwardly sighs and clears his throat, attention on him once again.

"There might be a possibility that it is what Roger thinks it is." Upon hearing this, Roger smirks and raises his brow at Adrian and the latter answers with a playful growl.

"10 year-olds, I tell you." Alpha Leblanc thinks to himself.

"But we can never be too sure if it is what it is until we do further investigations. So far, there are no traces of it ever stepping into our lands except for what the Orlandis have told us and also the testimony of my own daughter. The only thing we can do is wait until it makes itself known."

The people in the room exchange glances with each other and a mutual understanding has been made between them. They could not act on it. The being they suspected it would be is a being far more powerful than them and there's no way they could even lay a hand on its fur. They can only hope that it came without meaning harm.

"Alright, folks. Let's end this here. Thank you for coming. Meeting dismissed." Alpha Leblanc finishes and immediately, ugly screeches of multiple chairs could be heard resounding in the room. Slowly, the number of people inside decreased.

"So, do you have anything you wanna do, bud?" Alpha Leblanc asks Julia who has been awkwardly standing all throughout the meeting.

"Um . . . Maybe eat?"Julia replies.

"Fat ass you literally just ate before coming here." Raven teases Julia.

"Shut the fuck up. I can eat whenever I want, wolf."

"Sure thing. Let's go to the dining area. I've already mind linked the chef and he's preparing something now."

Hearing this, Julia and Samuel look at each other and race out of the room.
