You felt a lot of anxiety going into this school year. You had never felt this nervous before, and you blamed all of that on transferring to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Being a French native - Paris, exactly - you always attended Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, not to mention that your friends and family were there, too. Until this year, when your Aunt and Uncle Louisa and Marvell Delacour decided that a higher education was expected for you, and they decided to have you move to London with them and attend the esteemed establishment.

Being ripped away from everything you knew and loved was no easy thing, though, and you found yourself missing the comforts of the school and your friends as you mounted the platform of Kings Cross station.

"Dépêche-toi mon couer (Hurry up, sweetheart)!" your Aunt yelled as she tried to talk over the bustle of the people that passed through the platform. The Hogwarts express was parked there in all its glory, and you didn't even realize you'd fallen behind as you marveled at the huge train.

"Oui, ma tante (yes, auntie)," you muttered quickly as you made it through the crowd. You kept your head lowered as curious eyes glanced your way, and you tried not to have any attention drawn to yourself.

"Drop off your bag, my dear," your Aunt said in her heavy French accent, and she waited by the luggage cart. You felt uneasy as all eyes were on you, and people were not so subtle about their wondering of who you were. You gulped and ducked your head low, looking into your Aunts big crystal eyes.

"You can go now, tante," you said in a voice that you tried not to ring with pleading. Your Aunt gazed at you for a while before smiling and giving you a knowing glance.

"Fine, I know when I'm not wanted," she said, and you felt embarrassment flush your cheeks as she caught on to your innuendo.

"Tante-"

"I understand, couer," she said, cupping your cheek and brushing it with your thumb, "My time at Hogwarts were some of the best years of my life. But the most important thing that made them so were the relationships I made along the way."

"Like Uncle Marvell," you said as your mood lightened.

"Eh, yes, like Uncle Marvell," she said and casted a unsure look at her stout husband, who smacked her lightly with a dumbstruck look.

"Oi!"

You laughed gently, before being cut off by the whistling of the train. You needed to leave soon, and as much as you hated to admit it, and as much as you loved your Aunt and Uncle very much, if you were going to have any shot of making a decent social life in this school the first thing kids needed to see wasn't your cookie cutter French relatives. So, with a heavy heart, you hugged both of your family members goodbye and made your way to the train, feeling intimidated and more nervous for a new school year than you ever had before.

You walked down the halls of Hogwarts, carrying many things in your hands as you tried to make it to your next class. It was your first week here, and you hadn't made any friends yet, just acquaintances you'd met in classes or in your dorm room. Professor Dumbledore met with you privately in his office and sorted you, abruptly putting you into Ravenclaw house, and as much as they are known for being the intellectuals of the bunch, you are having a hard time keeping up with the smartest of your house mates, which lands you in the crowded corridor you walked in, carefully trying to balance several books at once as you made it to Transfiguration.
