It was a cold and harsh night but the city lights seemed to lit it up in an almost perfect way. The moon was perfectly crescent and the stars above seemed to shine a little brighter. it all seemed perfect, not a thing out of place. With camera in hand, a mask on his face and a warm winter jacket on Jungkook went outside in search for the perfect scene to capture. As the 18 year old boy took his first steps away from the dorm a little shiver ran through his spine. It was even colder than he had initially thought but he kept walking, who knew when such a beautiful night would occur again. For a second he stood still to think about where he wanted to take the photos. A scenery with a bridge, from where he could take a photo with the city lights glowing in the background, that would be a marvelous view. Eventually he decided on Wonhyo bridge.

For an hour Jungkook tried to capture the radiant scenery inside the lens of his camera but nothing seemed to stand out enough to show how special that night was. Nothing showed how the cold air wrapped around everything to try to steal the heat of the objects or how the lights threw shadows around as if there could never be enough.

Normally Jungkook loved how sharp the photos he took with his camera were but now it seemed like the lights would be more beautiful in the background, blurring together to make a fuzzy blanket of colors. Even when Jungkook made his camera focus on the bridge alone, the lights still didn't form into what he had in his mind. He started to play around with the lighting and focus without even looking at what he had created. His body getting cold and his patience running low.

When Jungkook finally looked back at the screen of his camera a breathtaking view awaited him. His camera was focused on a girl. She was walking in his direction. Her face got lit up by the street lights and then a second later it was totally dark again when she had passed the light. It felt like the lights were mocking Jungkook. Illuminating her face in the most ethereal way and then taking it away from him before he could snap a picture. Her shiny long hair danced in the wind, perfectly demonstrating how it tried to swirl around her and claim her body heat.

Then she stood still, just behind a lamppost. A beaming smile was painted on her plump lips as she opened a call with someone on her phone. Jungkook didn't think it over twice and quickly took his chance, he took what must have been a hundred photos directly after each other. The shots he took of the girl were a little bit messy, but in none of that mattered in the moment. All that mattered to him was getting as many pictures of the girl as he could.

The girl her smile faltered as she lowered her phone, her aura immediately changing. Jungkook stopped taking pictures to try to discover what had made her mood switch so drastically.

The girl stepped closer to the balustrade. Now that her face was fully illuminated by the lamppost, her features seemed even more delicate. She gripped the railing and stared out onto the river. One single tear rolled out of her eye, slowly it slid down her cheek but she didn't bother to wipe it away. Just when the tear had fallen of off her jaw another one spilled out of her eye.

Jungkook adjusted the focus of his lense to capture every single detail of what was happening in front of him. For every picture he took, his patience seemed to grow. Sometimes he even took a few minutes to find the perfect focus and lighting for his new picture. Luckily he had enough time to take as many photos as he wanted. The girl just stood still on the edge of the bridge, staring straight ahead, totally in her own world.

An hour went by with the girl not moving and Jungkook gasping about the new beauty he uncovered with every photo he took. when a shiver yet again ran through Jungkook he knew he had to stop and get inside.

Just as Jungkook wanted to pack his stuff the girl mover her head. she looked right at Jungkook's hideout. Her moistened eyes widened as she curiously tilted her head to the side a little. Even though the young boy had been staring at the girl for over an hour already, her beauty still captivated him. He raised his camera to snap one last shot of her. His shame long forgotten, he just wanted one more photo of her. One of her whole face, one of her perfectly symmetrical pouty lips and her tear stained left cheek instead of only her right one.

The girl turned around as soon as she noticed her photo was being taken. quickly she walked further away from her stalker. Her long hair swayed entrancingly on her back and Jungkook couldn't help but take a shot or two more, her steps just looked too elegant and perfect.

Maybe it was the night that made everything ten times more beautiful than normally or just the fact that Jungkook was completely and utterly exhausted, but when Jungkook went to bed that night he couldn't seem to get asleep. He twisted and turned in his covers while the question of what would've happened if he had just said something to the girl muled around in his head.

If he had gone towards her maybe he'd known her name and known what her voice sounded like, seen her beauty up close. But nothing special would've happened, he wouldn't have gotten her number or touched her or gotten a kiss. She probably wouldn't even remember him the next day, too caught up in her own sorrow.

No, it was better that he hadn't tried to talk to her. Now he had beautiful pictures to look back on that bright night. Girls weren't his priority, being an idol was. The boy tried to tell himself he only took the photos because the girl provided the perfect object to find the focus and lighting he wanted in his picture, but deep down he knew that was a lie. These photos were the best ones he had ever made and not because of his photography skills. It was because that girl was the centre of all of them.
