Chapter 20

Jaebum watch Jinyoung who is staring at Jisoo from a distance. They are in the rooftop while Jisoo is in the school's garden, feeding her little hairy sister, Gyeomi. (That's what Jinyoung told him)

Being Jinyoung's best friend for more than seventeen years, it's odd for him to see his best friend to like a girl so much. In addition, the girl he likes is really weird.

"Hey Ji." Jaebum called out to him. Jinyoung glance to him and hummed in response before shifting his eyes back to Jisoo.

"It's been a month after you asked Jisoo to be your girlfriend, right?"

He nodded but his eyes are still on her.

"Are you willing to wait so long?"

This time, he look to Jaebum. "What do you mean?" 

"You n-"

"It's the first time for you to like a girl so much. And it's already a month after you asked her but you are still waiting like a lost puppy. If it's me, I already look for another girl." Mark interrupted.

"Yes. That's what I mean." Jaebum said, agreed with Mark

Jinyoung smile but did not say anything. He turned back to stare at Jisoo.

Jaebum wanted to ask him again before the door slammed open, revealed Jennie, Lisa and Rosé.

"Here your breads Youngjae, Mark oppa!" Rosé hand a plastic bag of breads that Youngjae and Mark asked her to buy.

Jaebum look up to Jennie, waiting for her to give me his bread and milk that he asked for. But she eat her jelly happily without throwing a glance to him.

"Hey Jen. Where's my food?" She stopped eating and look down to him.

"Oh! I forgot." She replied and continue eating her jelly.

"What? Are you serious? You dumpling fat!"

She glared at him and sigh. Then, she pull a plastic from Lisa and pick out a bread and a milk. "Here!" She hand them to him. "I am not fat and I am gorgeous! Say that again and I rip your mouth!"

Jaebum grin sheepishly. "Thanks Jen. And yeah, you are not fat." She rolled her eyes and pull out another jelly from the plastic bag, ignoring Lisa and Yugyeom who are bickering about a sandwich.
 
"Jinyoung, you said you will do anything to make Jisoo to be your girlfriend. But, what exactly that you want to do?" Jaebum asked him again.

"Right hyung. You never asked her for a date." Yugyeom chipped.

"You never give flowers or presents to her."
 
"And the worst is, I believe you don't even have her number." Lisa said. And that make them look to her.

"What? He don't ask for her number?"

"Yeah. And that's stupid." Lisa blurted.

"Yah hyung. What's wrong with you?"

Jinyoung scratch his head and turned to them. No longer staring at Jisoo down there.

"To be honest, I don't plan anything. I never think about it. I just wait for her."

"That's stupid." Lisa repeated.

Jinyoung chuckled.

"I just want to be myself. Show my true self to her. I act like my normal self to her. Because I think that's the only way for her to trust me, by knowing who I am."

He look up to the sky and run his hand through his hair. "When I was around her, she don't act like any other girls like I always see with their boyfriend. She is not ashame to show me what she likes. She said what are in her head. She is caring and that's what I like the most about her."

"I don't asked her for a date because I am sure she will say that I was being cheesy or gross. She once told me that watching movie or go to restaurant to eat for a date is really cliche." He laugh.

"Hmm. That is really Jisoo noona. Then, what kind of a date that is not cliche?" Yugyeom frowned.

"Going to a comic fiesta or anime festival for a date." Jennie answered while Lisa and Rosé nodded.

"Who would go to comic fiesta for a date?" Mark asked.

"Jinyoung hyung and Jisoo noona of course." Youngjae beamed happily.

"You really like her, eh?" Jaebum look to Jinyong.

He just grinned. "I decided to be by her side when she is happy or sad, hear any single thing that she said, help her and be someone who she can trust. I don't want to make her as mine by asking for a date every week, buy anything for her because she is not that kind of girl." 

His ears turned red. 

"Oh my god! His ears turned red!" Jaebum shout. He quickly fished out his phone from his pocket and snap some pictures of his ears. Youngjae and Mark and playfully pull his ears. "You're embarrased." They burst into laughter.

"Why did you snap pictures of an ear? You're gross Im." Jennie frowned and snatch Jaebum's milk that is still have not opened. 

"Hey! That's my milk!"
 
Rosé gave her orange juice to Jaebum.  "Here oppa. I still have not opened that." 

"Thanks Rosé. Jen, you should be like her."

The door slammed open again. This time, it's Jisoo.

"Jinyoung!" She make her way to Jinyoung and give him a comb before settling down in front of Jinyoung. Her back facing him.

"A braid again?" Jinyoung asked gently.

Jisoo nodded happily and eat her bread.

"You two are gross." Lisa blurted again.
