It had been about a year since the breach in Wall Maria and so far, Eren, Armin and Mikasa have been handling that well. As for me, I'm paranoid. I freaked out the other day when Armin went to go visit this grandfather. I was so scared for little Armi,  it took Eren and Mikasa 20 minutes to calm me down.

*Flashback*
"(Y/N), what's wrong?" I heard Armin ask. "A-armin?" I asked "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked "T-there you are, Armin! I was so worried about you!" I cried, as I reached up to give Armin a hug.
*Flashback End*

"Next year, I want to join the Trainee Corps." I said. Everyone stared at me in awe. "Y-you want to join the Trainee Corps?" Eren stuttered, the shock was intense and it created a weird presence lingering around the four of us.

One Year Later...

It's time to gather up and fill out waiver forms. My writing was decent. Good enough to read. Once we finished filling out our waiver form, we headed to the barracks where we would receive our Trainee Uniform. I was headed to the barracks. It seemed as if I was in a hurry for something, maybe because I was excited that I was finally able to join the Trainee Corps and take back what once was humanities.

"(Y/N) (L/N) from the Shiganshina District, sir" I said while saluting. I studied the salute because I knew that when the time came, I would have to use it and do it properly.

Wow... I'm actually here, joining the 104th Trainee Corps! Now... I should really focus and try my best at everything. I have a feeling that because Mikasa is an Ackerman, she's going to be the top of the graduate class. I'll need to beat her somehow all the while, trying not to get myself killed. That'll be fun.

I told myself some sarcastic things and some true things. Mikasa overall, exceeded in anything she did. One thing that made it obvious, was her outstanding beauty but her overprotective obsession over Eren. To her, if she lost him, it would be the end to her world. Eren doesn't seem to notice this but as I said, it's pretty obvious. My only problem is that Mikasa is way faster than me and, she has better balance than me so, she's probably going to win when it comes to doing the ODM Gear training. What Mikasa didn't know that was coming her way was that I was exceeding in hand-to-hand combat. Little did she know, that despite her speed, I would kick her ass in combat, all because of where I was raised. I lived on the surface but, I was raised in the Underground.

The Underground was always cold and it always had the putrid smell of blood. Blood stains everywhere on the streets and there had to have been at least 10 people killed in one day if not, more. It was filled with screaming and drunkards yelling at each other. There were rapists always lurking around. If you were a girl and you escaped the Underground without getting brutally abused or raped, consider yourself a God because that's the most rare thing that will ever happen to you.

I escaped the Underground one night while my parents were sleeping. I snuck up to the surface and I had gotten out. I had bruises and scares written all over my body because of the abuse I went through from my father. I wanted to die in the Underground, but ever since I escaped to the above ground, I wanted to live in peace. Peace came in where the outter walls lay and I first thought if one of the only words I learned. Shiganshina. I would escape to the Shiganshina District to live up a wonderful life there, before it came the time for me to join the Trainee Corps. In order to survive, I had to fight. I never killed, only fought. I would get money from the drunkards above ground and I would use that money to buy food for myself. I lived with a family in Shiganshina and I never regretted leaving the Underground. They found me when they were in Wall Sina for a visit when they ran into me. I looked at them and looked down.

"Oh, darling? Are you okay?" the woman asked. I felt instantly that I trusted her. I shook my head and started crying. Her and her husband took me back to their house where I told them my story. They both felt horrible for me and said that I could help myself to whatever they had in their house and that I could stay there for as long as I wanted. They told me about three kids that didn't live too far away from them and that they were good friends with the parents of each kid.

*Knock, knock, knock* The woman knocked on the tall, oak door of a beautiful strong house. "Ah! Ms.(L/N)! It's so nice to see you again!" A friendly woman's voice greeted "Oh? And who do we have here?" she asked surprised to see my short body standing behind the woman that took me in as her own. "This here is (Y/N). I found her on the streets and I took her in. Kind of like how you guys took in Mikasa!" The woman said joyfully.

I remembered how my life started out and started crying from the shocking impact it gave me. I ended my sobbing before dinner where I joined Eren, Mikasa and Armin at a dinner table. "Hey, (N/N)? Where have you been?" Eren greeted in a questionable joyful voice. "I've been on my bed..." I hesitated to answer his extremely odd question.

I just wanted to live up to my dream. That's all that really mattered to me right now.
