"Did you guys here the news?" Jean asked as Marco and I sat down for breakfast.

"No, what's the news?" I asked. Tired and bored out if my mind.

"THE SCOUTS ARE GOING OUTSIDE THE WALL!!" Jean yells.

"CALM DOWN, JEAN!!!" I yelled back

"Guys, you both need to calm down." Marco hushed us, quietly.

"Sorry..." I apologized. Marco nodded and looked at Jean, who death glared the two of us, got up, and left.

"Bye, Kirsten!" I called.

"Bye, (L/N)!" Jean called back.

"Grr.. he annoys me to my point, sometimes, but I don't know what I would do without him." I said a little bashfully to Marco, who as always, was listening intently to what I had to say.

"I agree with you, (Y/N). Sometime she can be a little to... extra?" Marco looked at me to say that he was unsure of another word to use.

Later...

"The Scouts are going out now. I hope everyone from our Trainee Corps comes back." Marco smiled. It wasn't his usual smile. It was lop-sided and sad. I just gave him a hug.

"It'll be alright, Marco." I told him reassuringly.

"I hope so, (N/N)." he whispered in my hair.

We watched in silence as the Scouts moved out of Wall Rose. It was scary. People I had grown very close to were about to go out and if they were lucky, make it back inside of the walls. I was worried sick.

It was lights out and the Scouts still haven't come back. I had thrown up in the bathroom before I went to bed.

I hope that their all okay...

I thought quietly to myself before seeing Marco and Jean walk back into the dorm.

"Where were you two?" I asked, half tired, a quarter bored and another quarter being worried sick.

"We were talking with Commander Shadis. We told him how well everyone was doing and he is very proud of us. All of us!" Marco exclaimed, practically jumping off of his feet to tell me this.

When the Scouts got back...

The Scouts had come back late that night. awe were all sleeping, so when they came back, it startled everyone. The gate to get inside of the wall was very noisy. Marco, Jean and I got up to look out the window. The Scouts really were back!

Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Connie, Sasha, Ymir, Christa, Reiner and Bertholdt. We saw Commander Erwin and Captain Levi. Then, we saw Captain Hanji and her assistant, Moblit but, none of their squads.

"W-where are the squads? Please don't tell me they ALL died!!?" I yelled at my window which was sealed shut.

"They might be, (N/N), but that's life." Marco told me as he acted one of his warm hands on my back.

I couldn't get back to sleep. I was, even though I hadn't seen anything that the Scouts have seen, petrified. I didn't want to know what they saw out there, but at the same time I did. It was an extremely uncomfortable feeling that I would never get used to.

Everyone ate breakfast together the next day. The squad captains looking devestated and, there was a gloomy aura over every one of the Scouts. That being, including Commander Erwin. They must've failed the mission if everyone's acting so distraught.

Some people talked as if nothing happened out of the ordinary. It was frightening.

We all had a free day so Marco, Jean and I just sat outside the barracks and talked. I kept looking off into the sky though, as if it would give me the answer to something. Thai for some reason made Marco laugh or, at least giggle. I liked it when he giggled, though. It was cute.
