"ALRIGHT CADETS! TODAY, WILL MAYBE BE YOUR LAST DAY OF TOTURING!" Commander Keith Shadis yelled at the group of cadets that had greatly decreased as the training went on.
"Oh, fun!"
"What's next? Are we going to go through hell, yet again?"
"Y'all can shut up and appreciate the fact that training is basically done!" I yelled at a group of kids being sarcastic and I could see the little tiny bits of hurt in Keith's eyes. "You should be glad that you had an amazing person teach you how to deal with shit that you would've never imagined going through or, doing. Yes, at times, he was very strict, but that was to put the point into the lesson. If it wasn't for Commander Shadis, we would all already be dead! Thank him, for putting up 5 years with us, irritating brats!" I finished and gave Shadis a smile, letting him know that I had appreciated everything tmhes done for the Trainee Corps."As I was saying..." he continued. "You are going to graduate today so here are the top ten cadets. You all put in a great amount of effort and, you should've all been placed on this top ten chart but, unfortunately, we had to choose. Let me tell you all, this was the hardest thing I have ever out up with." Keith said. Everyone wore a completely shocked face st his words of kindness.
"First, (Y/N) (L/N). Congratulations, you exceeded in everything. You showed great influence on others and so many more reasons. Second, Mikasa Ackerman. Third, Annie Leonhart. Fourth, Bertholdt Hoover. Fifth, Eren Jäeger. Sixth, Jean Kirschtein. Seventh, Marco Bodt. Eighth, Connie Springer. Ninth, Sasha Braus and, tenth, Armin Arlert. Good job to everyone who made it on the list and, those who didn't. I have great faith that you will do good thinsmgs for this world." Keith ended and we were dismissed."Good job, Mikasa!" I congratulated her. She nodded in acknowledgement and walked off to find Eren. I asked over to another group of people, kind of nervous. I wasn't a very social person, so I wanted to take the time to get to know some of my comrades.
"Hey.." I said walking over with the wave of my hand. Everyone looked at me and then they ran up to me.
"Hi, I'm Sasha. This is Connie, Jean, Marco, and this is.." she stopped realizing that it was time for dinner.
"Wow...", I said partially surprised. "She ran off like a demon preying on an angel." I laughed and walked off.
"H-hey, (Y/N)?" a voice said from behind me, so stopped to see who it was.
"Hey, what's up Marco?" I asked in a gentle voice.
"Well..." he started off. "Y-you s-see, I think t-that you're very s-strong and beautiful." he stuttered gaining more confidence towards the end of his sentence. I 'awed' at his compliment and ran over to give him a hug, which really surprised him. He eventually hugged back.
"Thank you, Marco! No one has ever said anything to me as you have!" I kissed his cheek and ran off because I was getting hungry. I decided that j would sit at Marco's table for dinner.
At Dinner
"Hey, guys!" I greeted my new friends. Marco and Jean sat next to each other and when Marco saw me he blushed and looked down, obviously still embarrassed about the kiss I gave him before dinner that day. Although to me, it meant nothing but, to him it could've been the best thing that could've ever happened to him.
"Hey, (Y/N)!" Connie practically yelled. "Oh, uh, hi, Connie." I said in a lowered voice "That surprised me, sorry!" I apologized for seeming do taken aback. "Don't worry about it, sorry I was a little loud though." he apologized while rubbing his neck.
As we ate, we discussed which regiment we were going to go for.
"Marco and I are going with the MP's!" Jean exclaimed. While him and Marco were excelled in joining the MP's, everyone else said that they were going to join the scouts. I just sat there.
"W-where are you going, (N/N)?" Marco asked me, not as shy as before. "Uhh.. I actually don't know yet. I might go with the scouts, but if I die, I'll be leaving everyone I care about behind. Whereas, if I join the MP's, I get to stay with everyone!" I explained. Everyone wondered why I seemed to be so energetic tonight and frankly, I wondered the same.
At the Graduation Ceremony
We all lined up and saluted. We stood like that for about 10 minutes before Commander Erwin Smith stepped out onto the wooden stage that stood before us and we straightened out backs more than we have ever before.
Commander Erwin Smith was a well respected higher up than anyone. He could honestly care less if we didn't have our backs straight. He laughed at our intense energy.
"Hello there, everyone. If you don't know me, my name is Commander Erwin Smith and I'm obviously here to persuade you to join the Survey Corps!" he exclaimed. He was still giggling at our energy and told us that we could loosen up. "I would recommend now, that if you are not planning to hear what I have to say, to leave." he had such a serious tone in his voice.
He went on to explain what was to come for us if we joined the Scouts. I saw a lot of people in the process leaving. I was beside my new group of friends and they, between shivers of fear, and the cold, were swearing because of the scariest decision they were about to make.
Connie and Sasha, stayed where they were while Marco, Jean and I left. I just couldn't throw my life like that.
They never realized I had followed them out until they heard footsteps behind them. They stopped and turned around, very slowly and when they saw that it was just me, they let out a sigh of relief.
"(Y/N)! It's just you!" Jean said, in a shocked tone. Part of the time sounded like relief and some of the tone sounded like he was upset about something.
"Jean, what's wrong? Don't tell me nothing because I can hear something laced in your voice." I asked in a gentle but demanding way.
"Well, I thought maybe you would've stayed with Connie and Sasha and joined the scouts." he explained. I took a step closer, and he flinched. "Well.. I also thought you know.. you and Eren had something going on and I thought you might've wanted to be with him.." he finally blurted out. Marco had a look of shame laced on his face and Jean, looked like he was ready to cry. I didn't think I was being that intimidating.
"Hahahaha! Really, Jean!? No, Eren and I are only friends, but I can see why you would've said what you said. Yes, it's obvious that Eren likes me but I don't like him the same way. I'll never know if I'll like him the same way but, don't worry. Honestly, I didn't feel like joining the Scouts because I don't want to throw my life away like that. Also, I just wanted to use firearm instead." I replied.
We walked to where we needed to go and ran into Connie and Sasha who very, very curious about why I didn't choose the Scouts.
Okay so, I did it! Without the little author notes at the end of my chapter (s), especially today's chapter, there were 1258 words! Congrats me! There will be a second book coming out soon so, yeah, live life guys! Bye
