Chapter 4: Hidden Power

Looking for Kiba was no easy feat. Wherever he was his trail was well hidden. He didn't want to be found. We needed to find some leads or something. Yesterday I did notice that Kiba had a venomous aura around him when he saw the Excalibur fragments that Xenovia and Irina had. Issei and Koneko knew him longer than me so they must have known something about why he acted as he did.

"Issei, Koneko? About yesterday, do you guys have any idea about why he acted like that to Irina and Xenovia?" Issei shook his head no, but Koneko nodded yes. She told me that when Kiba was a kid he took part in something called the Holy Sword Project. A program devised by Archbishop Valper Galilei. It was his mission to ensure humans to be able to naturally wield the Excalibur fragments. However, he deemed the children or test subjects as defective and ordered his followers to execute them. Kiba was the only survivor. He was found by Rias not long after that. Xenovia heard this and confirmed everything Koneko said and then some.

"She's right. Reports were saying that there was a child with a Sacred Gear known as Sword Birth that was part of the Holy Sword Project. His body was never found. Now that we know that Kiba is that person I feel sorry for him. At least the man behind the Project was banished from the church and sentenced to imprisonment for the crimes he committed." Xenovia confirmed. Now that I had a hint of knowledge of his attitude towards his former faith and reason for his comrades' deaths. He wanted revenge plain and simple. However, the way he was going about it was going to get himself killed. We had to find him fast. Once we arrived at another alley we found the bodies of three Fallen Angels. They appeared to have multiple slash wounds and still inside one of them was proof that Kiba was here and my suspicions were right about him being out for blood. However, there wasn't any indication as to where he went afterward. The bodies were still warm so he was here recently. About 20 minutes ago is my guess. Their limbs weren't stiff so it was a good sign. I used observe in this area to see if I can find out exactly what direction ran off to. The vision before me shown that Kiba was chasing after the rogue priest, Freed, with a glint of anger in his eyes. There was a blinding flash once Kiba got the maniac cornered. This made me wince and cover my eyes. Everyone looked at me with an expression of shock. Almost everyone, Xenovia was still cold and indifferent. I shook it off and continued looking at the vision before me. Once the flash died down three Fallen Angels took Freed's place. Kiba dispatched them quickly, but he was injured by a light spear in the process. Once he patched himself up he took off eastbound in the direction of the lunatic Exorcist. I kept using my advanced observe skill I dubbed predator vision to follow his trail. 

"I found out where Kiba went, follow me!" I said signaling for everyone to follow me. 

"How did you figure out where he's at?" the blonde guy asked. I just looked at him over my shoulder and said it was a perk of being a Crusader of the Zakarum faith. We were definitely on the right path because the rooftops and alleyways were littered with dead Stray Exorcists and Fallen Angels. We kept following the trail until we got to the woods. That's when we heard Kiba shouting. We double-timed it to the source of his voice. Once we arrived what we saw was a massacre. Bodies of Fallen Angels and Stray Exorcists were all over the forest floor, staining the ground with blood. I called out to Kiba and he looked to us, not with anger, but with relief. Just then the maniac priest came out of hiding.

"Well now, ain't this a wonderful surprise you gave me Knight of Rias Gremory! Hehehehe HAHAHAHA!!!!!! NOW I GET TO KILL 3 MORE SHITTY DEVILS!" Now that I am witnessing this with my own eyes, it is safe to say that this man is indeed a demented lunatic "Oh, and what's this 2 members from the church?! How exciting!!!! You even brought me two more Excalibur fragments? You shouldn't have! This feels like Christmas!!" Seriously what the hell kind of drugs is this guy on?! He just doesn't seem to shut up. However, I have something that'll make him shut up. I raised my hand and summoned my flail preparing to throw it at the guy while charging it with holy lightning.
