It flashbacked to the demon being held up by his neck, foaming by the mouth and blood pouring from his nose. His eyes shook as he looked at the man before him who was choking him. A man wearing a white hat with a single black stripe held him up with a finger to his mouth.
"You can't tell anybody, okay? You can't tell anybody anything about me. If you say something, I'll know immediately... I'll always be watching you."
"I can't say! I can't say!" The demon started shaking his head in fear. "I CAN'T SAY! I CAN'T SAY! I CAN'T SAY!"
Tanjirou and I stared at him worriedly and in concern. I saw the clear signs of his incredible fear and Tanjirou was able to smell how he was trembling to the bone.
"I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT!"
The demon's arm grew back and he swats at Tanjirou. Tanjirou was forced to decapitate him, unable to get an answer out of him. His face scrunched up into sadness, only then realizing that Nezuko was leaning against the wall with her eyes closed. He ran up to her and put a hand on her wound. He crouched down and closed his eyes, resting his forehead on hers in relief. I sadly stared as I noticed Kazumi was looking at the ground, defeated. I walked over to him and crouched down in front of him.
"Kazumi-san, are you alright?" I stared at him with soft, kind eyes.
"I've just lost my fiancee... How can I be alright after all that?" Kazumi looked at me with tears running down his face. His face held sadness and anguish. At the world, at himself, maybe even at me for trying to comfort him.
"Kazumi-san," I stared down at my hands for a moment then looked back up to him. "No matter what happens, no matter how much you lost, you have no choice but to remain strong. You have to continue on no matter what stops you."
Kazumi snapped and grabbed the collar of my haori, bringing me closer to him. His sadness soon turned into anger. "What would a kid like you know about any of this?!"
I grabbed his hands and softly removed them from my clothing, smiling with understanding. I understood what Kazumi was going through, after all, I had also lost people important to me. He reminded me of when Ama-chan first took me in and my dislike for demons grew and grew. She was the one who helped me realize that not all of them were killers and were redeemable. Kazumi looked at me with shock and his grip on my haori loosened, allowing me to stand up. It seemed he realized what I was trying to express.
"Kazumi-san, we'll be leaving now. Take this," I took out the little display of bows I had taken from the demons. There were different hair ornaments on it, a bow, a flower pin, and more. "If only Satoko's belongings weren't in here..."
I bowed and walked off, noticing Tanjirou waiting from afar. Kazumi jolted and shouted, "I'm sorry! I said things that were cruel to you! Please forgive me! I'm sorry..." He realized something about what I had said.
He trailed off as he saw me look back. I kindly smiled at him and waved before turning around once more. Kazumi looked at my back and came to the realization I had suffered like he had, maybe even worse. Her eyes... They weren't the eyes of a young girl. They looked like she had already been through everything life has in store of humans. Just what did you go through..? I caught up to Tanijrou and walked alongside him. I put a hand on my hair, checking if it was messy or not. I readjusted my pin as I thought intently about the previous demon. He was trembling so much. I see... So this is the extent of Kibutsuji Muzan's power. Ama-chan was right... Tanjirou stared at me in what seemed to be awe, before quickly looking away, embarrassed. A black crow flew from above, landing on Tanjirou's shoulder.
"The next location is Asakusa in Tokyo Prefecture! There are rumors of a demon hiding there! CAWW!"
I sigh at the fact that we still have to keep moving and Tanjirou asks, "Eh~, is it time to go to the next location already?"
