10.08.1995

I was at the airport and my flight was delayed for 3 hours. I was so happy that I was going to meet her within a day and I wanted to be with her forever. I bought a gift to present to her and I hoped that she would like it.

After ten hours of a long journey, I landed in UK to meet my love. I saw Rajesh's cousin brother Kannan standing there to get me. I waved my hand at him.

“Hi bro how was the journey?”

“Hmm not bad bro and thank you so much for coming here.”

“It is okay, a friend in need. Am I right?

“Yes sure.”

“Okay then we'll go.”

Kannan and I hired a taxi and reached his flat within two hours. I was so tired so, after having my dinner, I went to bed.

11.08.1995

Today, I wanted to find Swetha, so after eating my breakfast, I hired a taxi to go around the city to find my girl. I gave the address to the taxi driver and he said he would try his best to find the address.

I was searching for Swetha for more than three days but I couldn’t find her. But I couldn't let my hope down. I came here to find her to take her with me.

15.08.1995

I received a voicemail early in the morning; I was shocked to find that it from was Swetha.

“Hi Niyal it's Swetha. I heard that you have come to UK to find me. But Niyal please you have to leave this place as soon as possible; you are not safe here. Listen don’t try to look for me.”

I couldn’t believe that she had sent me a voicemail, so I was sure that she was somewhere here; and it would be easy to find her. I didn’t bother to do what she told me in the mail.

I traced her number with the help of Kannan and found the exact place. I was extremely happy that I found the correct address.

The next day, I got up early in the morning and wore a beautiful outfit and didn’t forget to take the gift to present to her. I went with a taxi to the exact place and knocked on the door.

Swetha opened the door and she was shocked.

“Hi Swetha. I've found you and now I am here in front of you.”

“Shhh  Niyal, come here.”

 Then there was a lady who looked very old.

“Swetha beta, who is he?”

“Aunt he is my college friend. Today there is an assignment to submit so I called him to come to my place.”

“Beta be careful, I’ll go to market then come back.”

“Okay Aunt.”

Oh what a relief, I thought to myself as I entered the house and hugged her.

“Niyal why did you come here? Now I am in a danger; if my aunt says anything about you to my father, he won’t let me stay here.”

“Swetha, I am ready to take any risk. By the way, how did you get my phone number?”

“Madam Principal gave it to me.”

“Swetha I am very sorry I took a long period of time to come to you.”

“Do you know what happened on that day?” she asked.

“My father sent more than ten people to take me away from you and you were fighting with them. One person hit you with a log and took me to my home. I cried a lot because I didn't want to leave you alone. But within 24 hours they sent me to UK. So I came here and my Aunt doesn’t know that that's why I'm here; so she won’t question me about you any further.”

I spent more than 2 hours in that house and left the place, promising her that I would go to her college tomorrow.

So as the days were flying, Swetha and I would meet every day and Kannan would support us.

17.08.1995

“Niyal tomorrow I am going for a camp organized by the college Rotary club so I’ll be coming back within 2 days.”

"Okay and I also want to make an arrangement for my higher studies and find a part time job, so I'll try to find that. Good bye, don’t forget to call," I replied to her.

I was sleeping in the bed when I heard Kannan shouting,

“Niyal come here and see what is going on!”

“Hey what happened? Why are you shouting bro?”

“Here see. Those who went to participate in the Rotary club camp met an accident near the slope and five of them were killed on the spot."

“What are you saying bro?”

“My God, so what happened to Swetha?”

Kannan and I hurried to that place and found that there was a big traffic jam. There were a few bodies covered with a white coloured cloth. I went closer to see.

I saw a body which was covered but I could only see a hand and it was tied with a wristwatch. I had seen this wristwatch before. This was…… the watch that I gifted to Swetha.

“Oh no, that is Swetha! She has died!" I couldn’t help but shout.

“Niyal!  Niyal! Wait, please. Hey calm down."

“What are you saying Kannan? She is my Swetha and I've lost her. I've lost her forever."

Maya was crying.

Oh my God, what happened to that poor girl? She lost her life in an accident.

Maya didn’t expect something like this.
