•Chapter-9•
Author's POV:
The whole afternoon passed by with Aranya's thoughts about Marriage, that too with Arjun.
She heard s door knock and asked the person to come inside. Her mother entered and Aranya sighed looking at her. She got up and sat properly on the bed and her mother sat beside her.
"Angry?" She asked and Aranya shook her head in no. "Then?" Her mother asked. "Just sad that no one understands my pain." She mumbled and Aranya's mother gave her a small smile. "I do... I do baby... But sometimes, I have to be your mother and do what is right for you." Her mother said and Aranya left a big frustrated sigh.
"But Arjun... He is not right for me mom." She tried to reason but looking at her mom's frowned face she know then that she shouldn't whine, and accept him. "I am here to tell that we are leaving and after two weeks, you will be engaged to your Arju-" "two what?" Aranya asked and her mother raised her eyebrows and looked at her. "You heard me sweety! And yeah. Take care." She said getting up and Aranya looked down.
"Wait I will come to the airport." She said getting up but her mother nodded in no. "No need. We will manage." She said with a small smile. Aranya left her room and followed her mother.
She saw her brother and father already dressed up. "You have to come after a week, don't forget." She said and giving hugs to her parents and seeing them down as they left Aranya went back to her home and called Shreya.
Aranya: Where are you?
Shreya: in *gasps* in Vishal's place.. I- oh my... I will... I will call you later.
She said cutting the call and by Shreya's voice she understood what they were doing. Biting her lips she slapped her head for calling in a wrong time!
She looked at herself in the mirror and those injuries on her neck are still there few marks.. thinning her lips she looked at the time. She laid on the bed and looked at the ceiling on the top.
Suddenly she remembered Arjun saying yes and gritted her teeth as a tear rolled down her eyes. Why is he back again? If I would have known that he is going to be here then I would have said no to Mr. Gupta's offer. She thought and wiped her tears angrily. No, crying won't stop this. She have to stop this and they won't listen if she says no. So! She will make him reject the proposal himself.
She got up from her bed and sat on it before texting Rahul asking for Arjun's office address and she was shocked it to see it near her apartment, 5km apart. Still it is near comparatively.
She changed into a red top and dark blue jeans paired with her flats. She left her hair open and took her handbag.
She got out and locked the house, kept the key in her bag before stepping down to the ground floor and continued her walk following the Google map.
She soon found herself infront of a white colour building and she saw his bike out there. She bit her lip and asked herself whether she is doing right or not. Contemplating that she is doing the correct thing she entered inside. She soon saw Anjali and Varun discussing something and smiled at them. Anjali rushed and hugged her.
After a lil chat. "Where is Arjun." Aranya asked and Anjali bit her lips. "Upstairs." Varun said and from her peripheral vision Aranya saw Anjali slapping her head and thought what is wrong. Shaking her head she went upstairs. The floor is empty with only one room in the last so she thought it is the door. It is a glass door and as she neared the door she can see two figures, a girl and boy.
She frowned and pushed the door and saw Maya talking to Arjun. For a second her stomach churned and tears nearly brimmed. It shouldn't affect me.. he is not mine. She thought and looked at Arjun and Maya who stopped and narrowed her eyes at her.
"Wow! Look who is doing things behind back now!" Aranya snarled and Arjun narrowed his eyes at her. "Isn't this cheating now? Isn't this called cheating Arjun! You said yes to our marriage and now behind my-" "Hold on. It's just a friendly-" "Shut up! What this bitch is doing here by the way? The last time I know isn't she the sister of that bastard? With you whom you accused me of having an affair." Aranya said huffing looking into Arjun's eyes.
"You! How dare you-" "Maya, I will call you myself later but for now please leave." Arjun said and Maya left not before glaring at the couple.
"She was about to say his whereabouts.. thank you so much for ruining this-" "Oye! What do you mean? Is this a way to catch him? She is a girl too... Do you always do this? Hurting women, toying with them? Playing with their feelings and bodies.." "When did I do that with you?!" Arjun exclaimed coming closer to her.
"Have I? Have I ever touched you? Without your permission? Stop playing all these games! I am not in a mood!" Arjun said emphasizing the mood word, way too much.
"Then why did you agree to marry me?" She asked folding her hands.near her chest. "Because..." He trailed off.. "Because?" Aranya asked raising her eyebrows.
"Maybe.. maybe because still a part of me wants you, maybe still a part of me needs you to tame me... Maybe still a part of me wants to look at the stars, you laying on my chest as my hands wrapped around you... Maybe still a part of me wants you to be mine and only mine." He whispered those last words in her ears.
"So now you are seducing me?" Aranya asked pushing him away and taking few back steps, afraid of getting addicted to that familiar scent again.
"I don't need to seduce you! I already have your heart with me!" Arjun said smiling at her. "Which is shattered into millions of pieces, and can never mend again." Aranya said biting her lips. She left his office that day.
Few days passed and one day when Aranya was having a break she visited a cafe and saw her brother pushing Shristi away from him while Shristi is trying to talk to him desperately... She moved closer towards their direction as they were so busy in talking. "Why can't you understand my love for you! I love you Neerav!" Shristi said crying and a cold Neerav left the place. Aranya suddenly escaped that situation even before Shristi can have a glimpse of her....
