Stay

It was noticeable how y/n had to try hard in order to keep a steady pace and walk correctly without stumbling on her feet. She would lie if she said she wasn't tired; and dozing off from time to time while on the bus making her almost skip her stop didn't help if she wanted to get there early.

But being that tired meant she would later on sleep peacefully with no other worries than the softness of her mattress, which was something she had been looking for for months. Sleeping soundly and comfortably.

After what seemed like hours to her, she arrived at the front door of the cafe, only to find the lights off and the door closed.

Thing is the cafe was, in fact, closed. Wasn't the boss there? Did they close today? She doesn't recall anyone telling her anything about closing, not even the brat that asked her to be there at that right moment. And she hadn't been handed the spare key yet...
The fastest way to solve this was calling Jk, y/n concluded while taking her phone and looking for his contact, pressing the call button...

No answer.

Great. Just. Great... Did she have to wait until her boss arrived? But where could she wait? The only cafe near that area was the closed one in front of her...
She was way too tired to think so she decided to just... sit on the floor. Except for the fact that it was freezing, it was enough for her. Her boss would be on his way here right now either way, right? At least that's what she hoped.

As minutes passed by her eyes started closing and her mind drifting to anywhere but the place she was at...

Half an hour passed and y/n was still sitting on the freezing floor, waiting for her boss and sleeping carelessly... on the middle of the street.
Apparently it wasn't that surprising to see people sleeping on the ground since no one payed any attention to the sleeping beauty, even the regulars who came to the cafe only to find it closed.
That was until y/n felt a light tap on her shoulder, and she didn't know why but something told her to pretend she was still asleep.

"Um... Hello..?" a familiar voice surprised y/n "Are you okay?" He asked worried hoping nothing bad had happened to the girl who was sitting there on the... ground.
Suddenly she opened her eyes at breakneck speed, getting red from both the embarrassment and the coldness, trying her best to get up without falling and gain back her composure...

If only that would have gone as smoothly as it did in her mind.

She tripped, and not very beautifully like most of the times people fall on TV -although the boy who was worryingly witnessing the scene wouldn't agree with that-. Her feet didn't respond as fast as her mind did and expect the unexpected, she fell by stepping on the end of her own coat. How great.

It would also have been even greater if our witness had fast reflexes and could have caught the falling girl before she hit rock bottom, meaning before she gently slammed her face onto the ground. But not everyone in this goddamn world can react so quickly and stop catastrophes from happening.

Long story short the yet unnamed boy was now looking at the girl who was facing the floor.
And yes, he was holding back his laughter, and yes, he couldn't hold it back any longer. In other circumstances y/n would have prayed for no one to make a single move and just pretend nothing ever happened, but the boy being who he was, left y/n comfortably sighing, trying to recollect herself from the floor, this time carefully and giggling along with the beautiful not so stranger.

"I guess now we are... even?" The blond said cheerfully even though he felt guilty for laughing.
"Hey! This wasn't even close to yours". She jokingly added, feeling confident even after what just happened. "Your fall had like three casualties, mine had cero." and with that her witty remark ended, leaving the boy amusingly offended.
"I beg your pardon?" He asked glad to play along with the joke. "Isn't the more casualties the better? A triple kill is a win for me" he continued with a satisfied look on his face.
"That'd be the case if we lived in a shooter gg" y/n said as she checked if her coat had been ruined. "But we don't, so, I win" she ended with a huge grin on her face.

The boy was left there contemplating the girl right in front of him, and there they stayed, looking at each other lovingly in a comfortable silence that had been formed without them noticing.

After one minute of intense staring it got hard to follow the conversation so they just awkwardly coughed at the same time, and then laughed. How comfortable it was to be together, surrounded by each other's presence and fragrance.
Our blond and stunning boy proceeded to notice the details of the beauty, how her hair got all messy but was still in its place -surprisingly-, how her eyelashes were long enough to add that dreamy feature to her face, how red tinted her lips had gotten from the cold and how she was gently rubbing her two hands to keep them warm...

"Is your hand okay?" The boy asked frowning, finally breaking the silence.
"My hand? Why...?" Y/n started asking before she realized the small scratch on her right hand, too cold to feel anything. "Oh... that hand" she laughed. "it's fine, don't worry about it, it's so cold I didn't even notice" she shrugged it off, not minding the scratch at all.
"It doesn't look fine to me" He added, growing worried at the recklessness of the lady. "Let me see."
"No, really, it's fine. It's just a s-..." y/n quickly defended herself not being able to finish her sentence before the boy got closer and took her hand, carefully looking at it. Unconsciously turning it around, gently, to see if there were more scratches.

The girl felt her breath getting heavier, along with her nose failing her, letting the air go through erratically, her thoughts full of the boy's scent.
"You should clean it with disinfectant and make sure you cover it carefully, you need your hands to work after all." He said, still looking at the hand and then sighing.
Why was he so worried about her? What was with her that could drive him crazy and would mesmerize him to the point where he would worry because of a simple scratch?
Then he started to notice the warmth of her hand and the lack of response from the girl.

And what he had just done.

"Oh I'm-"He felt his cheeks burning, apologizing while backing away from an even redder girl. "I didn't-"

"Well, well, well. If it isn't my favorite lady here. Thought today was your day off, missed me?" Someone said with a smug and irksome tone.

Y/n turned her head to where the voice came from, not pleased with the sight in front of her.

"Look who got here at last..." y/n mumbled annoyed, being careful her boss didn't hear her. Although some blond guy did. "Well..." she continued after clearing her throat. "Jeon couldn't make it so here I am." she feigned a smile
These subtle gestures being noticed by the young boy who was just watching them confused. [Wait, My lady...? The blond repeated those words in his head, somehow already annoyed by this stranger.]

"I see you like it here, I'm glad" Her boss remarked ignoring all the signs of hatred. Then he got closer to the door, willing to open it.

"Wait, wasn't the café supposed to open an hour ago?" y/n asked trying to get an explanation after having waited for an hour in the cold.
"Yeah, sorry about that, I got distracted" He loudly horse laughed, making an irritating and earsplitting sound.
"For an hour?" She asked dumbfounded at her boss.
"Yeah, that's what I said" He laughed again. "Why aren't you inside already?"
"The keys..." she answered soulless, mouth ajar.
"Oh! that's right. I still need to give you a spare key, my bad." He laughed it off, AGAIN. "Well, could you open the curtains and put everything in order, gotta pee" He said handing her the keys to take care of the rest while he quickly run off inside.

"..." complete silence. "What a jerk" the boy who had witnessed everything, to his dismay, said. Still unknowingly mad he called her his lady. "I'm so sorry he is your boss."
"Yeah... me too" y/n said still not believing how much of a dick her boss could be. "What pains me more is the fact that I'll be staying with him the rest of the evening" she noted, trying to keep it cool.

"Well, I could stay with you."
