The New Swordsman (Sword Art Online x Gamer Male Reader)

New Beginning, New Link

Here we go with the first chapter and we're jumping right into the beginning of the Hollow Fragment Arc, expect a bit of action and an encounter before things settle down. 

Also, there'll be a few gamer abilities stuff I'll be borrowing from my other gamer story. Because they worked out so well for me last time, I decided to use them again. :)

Y/N's POV

Do you ever get that feeling of doing you something you suddenly regret and wishing you could turn back time and stop it? Well, I do and it was all thanks to a badly timed traffic accident.

I was passing through a green light when I thought the coast was clear, but as I drove past the junction, there was a fast car approaching on the right at a very high speed, I was able to see that it was one of tuned-out cars you'd find in a street racing game.

Unfortunately, with how fast it was going, I had no time to turn or even get out of the car, cause the moment I saw it, it was already inches away from crashing into me. I gasped loudly and one sudden crash later, I felt my whole life vanishing away.

There was a massive brightness of white light that clouded my vision. It seemed that my life was going to come at a sudden end...or, that's what I thought until a message appeared in front of me.

GAME OVER

Maybe I had been playing too many video games, cause seeing that is insane enough. But since it was all over, I decided to have one last laugh by picking yes and before I knew it, my eyes were closed and the blinding light vanished. I opened my eyes and I could hear sounds of trees.

"Ugh...what the heck, where am I?" I muttered.

I slowly sat up and looked around to see myself in a forest of some kind. As I got up to my feet and dusted myself, I noticed that I was now wearing slightly different clothes and in front of me, was some kind of message that made me wide awake in an instant.

Welcome, player. You have earned the Gamer Ability upon starting a new game!

"Wait...what, a new game?"

Your HP has been fully restored! All injuries and ailments have been cured!

What. The. Freaking. Hell?!

Have I just woke up in some kind of game world are something? But the idea of being in a game, I began tapping into my casual gamer side and I saw that I had another message, or in this case, a notification.

New quest received!

Quest: And So It Begins

You just woke up an in unfamiliar world as you begin your new life as a gamer. Figure out what anime franchise you're in and learn the basics of your surroundings.

Reward: 100 XP. First Skill Book. Legendary item of your choice.

Well then, seems like I'm in some kind of RPG game if I'm getting quests. I'll need to check if I can access a status screen, cause that will help find out where I am and what I am.

Hmm, that's convenient. But when I pressed the tab and saw my name, my jaw nearly dropped.
