Day 3 - Trial

"What!?" Pearl yelled in the lobby "How are we going to defend ourselves without Mystic Mia!?"

"I don't know!" Maya said. "Maybe if we leave now they won't find us."

"Are you two the Fey's?" A woman walking in asked. She had long black hair and wore a blue suit with a white tie and red undershirt. She stood there looking at herself in a mirror and applying lipstick.

"Yes, we're the Fey's." Maya said. "Who are you?"

The woman puckered her lips and put her mirror away. "I'm Calisto Yew. Your attorney for the this case."

"Really?" Maya asked "That's great! You hear that Pearly? We're gonna have an attorney after all!"

Pearl bounced "Yay!"

Ms. Yew looked back to her mirror "So, you need me to prove you weren't misusing magic?"

"Yes!" Maya replied.

"Well that should be simple." Ms. Yew thought "We'll just show the judge that magic doesn't exist, then we'll be fine."

Pearl gasped, "But magic does exist!"

Ms. Yew snickered and pat Pearl's head "Sure it does." She walked into the courtroom and stood at the defense table where Maya and Pearl joined her quickly after.

The Keeper looked around "Where is the prosecution?" He asked.

The curvier Franziska walked in after. "Sorry I'm late your honor." She calmly said "I was just having a bit of fun and I lost track of time."

Pearl looked up at Maya "How'd she do that?"

Maya shushed Pearl and the trial began. The Keeper turned to Franziska "I hope you're prepared to explain the case today Ms. Von Karma." He said.

Franziska curtsied "Of course I am your honor! Detective Skye told me yesterday that she was ready to cooperate."

"Then I shall summon her." The Keeper said. Ema appeared one more at the witness stand.

Ms. Yew wasn't paying much mind to what was happening, she just looked at herself in the mirror.

Ema looked around in confusion. Franziska got out her whip, "Pay attention!" She whipped Ema causing her to yelp. "I hope you prepared to explain this case to us today Ms. Detective." She had her hand on her hip.

Ema was shaking nervously and the fat in her jiggled all about. "I am." She said. Ema took a deep breath and prepared her notes of the case.

"About 5 or so years ago Maya Fey was known as the master of Khura'in.

During one channeling session she was accused of murdering her client Dr. Turner.

While talking to her lawyer, Maya Fey could be seen channeling her sister deceased sister Mia Fey.

Then at the trial, Pearl Fey also summoned Mia Fey to help solve the case."

The Keeper nodded "I see. That is most outrageous!"

Franziska flicked her hair with a smug look on her face. "Of course it is your honor. Now there should be no doubt in your mind that they are guilty."

The Keeper "Yes. I do believe I can pass judgement now."

"WAIT!" Maya screamed. "The defense needs to do their cross examination!"

The Keeper shook his head "Poor defendants. Thinking a cross examination will help them."

"It is quite foolish." Franziska said with her arms crossed.
